Terry Jones is again just a symptom of the over all problem. This conflict goes back Centuries. There is a very long history of mutual distrust and enmity between Muslims and the Christian west. Their are many in the West who feel threatened by Muslims, as there are many in the Muslim world that feel threatened by the West. Terry Jones exemplifies that threat perception.
Hindus have never had the reach that Muslims have had, or the global impact that Muslims have had, so the relationship between Hindus and Americans is far less antagonistic, simply because Hindu and American interests don’t overlap.
If it was just about oil, you would have sovereign states taking it up diplomatically or militarily with America. However, when radicalized youth go and bomb a country thinking that to be jehad *in the hope of going to *jannat and meeting *72 hoors *it takes a religious color. The Hindu religion does not have this concept, so while you could potentially have Hindus doing the same thing it would not be because of their (mis)interpretation of thier religion.
The problem with people like you is that you do not want to come out of this victim mindset, and want to continue to blame the west for everything.
Carry on !! I am done debating with you.
Its not just about oil. You dont get it. Its much more complicated then your simple minded stupid comment portrays. There are people who have based their entire Phd thesis on the conflict between Muslims and the West. And here you are with you brilliant assessment on a internet web forum.
If your to simple minded to think, its not my fault. Blame your simplistic, 2 dimensional upbringing.

Actually Muhammad Atta stated that the reason he did the 9/11 attacks was because American and UN sanctions had killed over 500,000 children in Iraq. Nothing to do with jannat or hoors. This was in the 9/11 commission report.

You need to do some reading, my friend. I suggest starting out with Samuel Huntington's Clash of Civilizations.
Its not just the West that Muslims have had a problem with. The relations between Muslims and peoples of other civilizations - Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Hindu, Chinese, Buddhist, Jewish - have been generally antagonistic; most of these relations have been violent at some point in the past; many have been violent in the 1990s.
Wherever one looks along the perimeter of Islam, Muslims have problems living peacefully with their neighbors. ...Muslims make up about one-fifth of the world's population but in the 1990s they have been far more involved in intergroup violence than the people of any other civilizations.

What about the 18 other guys that went down with Atta ? And the numerous other suicide bombers & wannabe jehadis ?
Same thing. Numerous studies have been done that say its political grievances that cause such attacks. Religion is just a tool that can be used, but it’s not the root cause. The CIA calls this “blowback”.
You might also want to start questioning (but you won’t because you’re simple and slow minded) why did America fund this type of extremist Islam:
Muslims cannot shirk their responsibility by pointing fingers at others. America might have funded extremist Islam, but extremist Islam was present for them to fund. American funding did not create Muslim extremits, they were present before American funding started.

What process do you want us to take that will make you happy? How I am personally responsible for what every Muslim does now because of political repression?

How so? If extremist Islam was there (you have to back this up with historical sources) then why did America have to fund it via their Saudi proxies?
You have to also look at what mental processes you are going through that leads you to this baseless conclusion.

Okay, so they were "present". In what context were they present? You have to be specific and use sources and describe your slow and convoluted mental processes, and not be vague.

Thats not for me to tell you. My response was to your statement blaming the US for funding and growing extremist Islam.

Okay, so lets start by defining extremist Islam ? When did US start funding "extremist Islam" ? And then lets see if "extremist Islam" was present before US funding or not.

Which happened. So my blame is not misplaced.

You can do your research on this subject yourself, but I highly doubt you have the mental faculties to pursue this.
^ As expected, you spewed some BS and when asked to defend it have resorted to name calling and personal remarks.
So pathetically predictable !!
Defend which view point? You are not being specific. It seems like we agree on that point that America funded extremist Islam via its Saudi proxy. Saudi Arabia still funds extremist Islam thanks to Western aid.
You are the one that made the claim that "extremist Islam" existed before America started to fund it.
I asked you to provide evidence for that. I know you are mentally slow, but try harder. Thanks.
And prior to that you made a claim (post # 66) that extremist Islam exists "because" America funds it, and then ran away when asked to corroborate it.
America did fund extremist Islam by way of books and teaching materials in the 1980's. I already linked an article to that from the Washington Post.
America's initial funding of extremist Islam and continuing occupation of Afghanistan, Iraq, bases in Saudi Arabia, etc. also inspires extremists to fight imperialism. We also cannot forget that Saudi Arabia, which would cease to exist without US support, continues to support and help the Taliban.
1980s ?? Hamas and Islamic Jehad date back to before 1980. So if America did not fund them, how did they come about ?
Hamas and Islamic Jihad are a reaction to Israeli occupation. Despite that, Hamas was initially created by Israel, as admitted by Israel's own leaders, as a divide and conquer strategy against the PLO, a secular, leftist, revolutionary group. And Hamas was founded in 1987.
You must remember that the Palestinian freedom movement initially was made up of secular, Marxist, groups which included many Palestinian Christians. They did plenty of bombings and hijackings as well, and killed a lot more Israelis than there Islamic counterparts could dream off.
Which groups? Are you talking about the Muslim Brotherhood now?
And what about Islamic terrorism in countries other than the US ?
There is very little Islamic terrorism in the US when compared to other groups and the attacks that they have done, both left and right wing.
Which events are you talking about? Are you looking at root causes or are you stuck in your mentality that Islam and Muslims are evil and that's why they are doing bad things?

The Islamist cause came later.
Exactly !! And none of that has to do with America.
As I mentioned earlier, Muslims have a problem in most countries (Muslim/non-Muslim) that they live in. Muslims have issues in Middle East, Thailand, Southern Philippines
a) The Bedouin tribes of the Middle East have been fighting each other for hundred, if not thousands of years and these prejudices still exist.
b) It was the British, the French and Italian governments that split up the Middle East into many of the current countries that exist without regards to the ethnic, religious or cultural diversities of the people. This has led to some of the current problems.
c) The problem with Thailand is the result of a British decision over 180 years ago and has nothing to do with America today.
d) The fighting in Southern Philippines is a fight over autonomy between the Muslims who make up most of the southern islands and the predominantly Catholics of the rest of the Philippines. This occurred well before the Americans occupied the Philippines as a colony after the Spanish-America War. Part of this battle is over ethnicity and part over freedom of religion.
So my point is that Islamic terrorism is not just what you see in Afghanistan and America alone cannot be held responsible for Islamic terrorism. There are various other causes, with the only common theme being that all of them involve Muslims.

Yes, and we should look at the causes, which are imperialism, occupations, economic disparities, social inequalities, and political disenfranchisement, and not blame the religion or its adherents, because that just makes you look like a dumb ass.
