both players of this conflict are too stuborn to allow a compromise to come. the US just wants blood, and the taliban hate pakistan more then they hate the US.
I think it's about time that a massive operation should be launched towards these criminals across country. Limiting operations to certain areas is clearly not working, as it only flushes them out of one area and gives them chance to regroup somewhere else.

Before asking for launching any operation, the stress should be on authorities providing security and safety to the official and civillian buildings, no?

There is no such thing as fool proof security against a determined terrorist who wants to kill himself and is in a hurry to go to hell.
However, all these attacks and seiges have been dealt swiftly which is also sending a message to these scums that yes you can attack us but we are ready to deal with you.

You can provide as much security as possible, but unless you strike the terrorist den, it will never be enough!
An active diplomatic approach is needed to fight against the sponsers of these terrorists as well. But first things first, clean up that mess in SW!

I agree with the second para but I think much can be done to improve the safety of office buildings, schools and mosques etc.

There is no protection against a suicide attack. It doesn't matter how many check posts or security personnels we bring for securing high profile targets. On the contrary, beefing up security (in terms of manpower) will only increase human losses should a suicide attacker blows himself there.

And where is that supposed terrorist den situated?

And BTW we should not only be concentrating on SW, but also the capital. There are few high security risk personalities sitting in the govt. At the very least, traitor Rehman Malik’s, Haqqani’s heads should roll. Zardair himself is the biggest threat to Pakistan security!
There are so many foreigners who are buying traitors and are involved in anti Pakistan activities.
There are training camps located near Islamabad (only 30 KM), Peshawar and so on which are being run under the cover of workshops or whatever. Even an average guy will know what these actually are for!
waziris hate pakistan because pak is on american side. i dont know if the situation could be improved when the americans leave. i would say allow fata to join afghanistan. i cannot see peace between the two peoples now

We can base our security plans on M15's models.
For that we need MI5 like resources and Scotlandyard trained police officers. We can't expect MI5 like performance from security officers who are under-trained, underpaid and not sufficiently armed to defend themselves.
The other approach to tackle suicide attacks, which Americans have adopted in Afghanistan & Iraq, is to shoot "suspects" from a safe distance. This approach can not & must not be adopted in Pakistan.

hmmmm....what about securing the borders of each city to monitor the movements of individuals??
