Terrorism?

Re: Terrorism?

They do? What are you basing this on? Mukhtar Mai case or something else? Why do you think they want him out? Are they preparing for an invasion or want to insall another puppet?

Re: Terrorism?

sometimes one dictator removes another dictator, remember when zia lynched bhutto.

Re: Terrorism?

Yes, and that is pakistan's fate. We never get tired of dictators and never will.

Re: Terrorism?

or we just break up the country etc...

Re: Terrorism?

I wonder when the time is going to come for the dictator of karachi...

Re: Terrorism?

He's of no use to us anymore. If anything, he's getting in the way.

Turn on tv, and all you hear is anti-musharraf talk on television. Theyr'e now painting him as a horrible person, whereas when the war in Afghanistan started, etc - they were showing him to be a saint.

Not that hard to figure out when an American ally is no longer needed.

Although, IMHO, there are enough extremist forces in Pakistan that if Musharraf was destabalized, they could easily take over, and the US plan would just backfire. Steadily, people are becoming more "religious" (even though I think its all phony religious behavior, and its just a political statement, like the return of the burqa) and more intolerant of "western culture" (which has nothing to do with Islam, and is, once again, just a political statement). So this anti-Americanism, and anti-westernism that's festering because of the war in Afghanistan and the war in Iraq...could very well just throw the American intelligence planning off guard.

I mean, we went into Iraq, and we had no clue that the Shia vs. Sunni fighting would end up being more of a headache to us than to the Iraqi forces fighting against the Americans. We figured, we'd just divide them, and instead, our soldiers are dying like flies. And our government has no idea how to fix the problem. I mean, Shias and Sunnis have been fighting since the death of the Prophet, essentially, and no one has been able to fully fix the problem. So how the hell can a superpower who knows very little about Islam and Islamic history, solve the problem?

Whatever, its all foreign politics. What they don't realize is that if Mush is lynched out by his own people, they're not going to be able to get another moderate leader in place that will be strong enough to keep his/her seat. It was one thing when you had BB and Nawaz Sharif - the environment in Pakistan was different then. Now, with all this religious revival, its a different story. I don't know how anyone will be able to keep their seat if they're not going to cooperate with the religious groups.

Re: Terrorism?

PCG be ready to welcome 'democracy' in Pakistan. and be thankful u dont live there. If the masses are going to be hoodwinked so easily, then they deserve everythign headed there way.

Re: Terrorism?

But see, that's the thing. Its a vicious cycle. They get hoodwinked, because they dont have the education or upbringing to know better. And who's responsible for that? The elitist stuck up a-holes that are eating the country up. And its not just the politicians. It even includes us who walked away from the country. But can we do anything about it? Not much. If we try to fix anything, we're probably going to get shot. Or accused of terrorism.

Re: Terrorism?

PCG those of us who were born abrod did not walk away, we later made a conscious decison to not go back.

dont tell me that a nation of 160M does not have enough ppl there to make a change if slefishness, corruption, ethnic and sectarian prejudice, and apathy did not rule.

As i have said before, Pakistan does not need you or I or mpre people like us there, there are are plenty of educated well intentioned patriotic ppl there, it just needs less of the type of people it has...

you or I could make grassroots leel difference by working with groups like human development foundation, by lobbying for Pakistan when needed, but as far as real change on teh street that is the responsibility of people there. That can not be outsourced.

Re: Terrorism?

I'll give you apathy. I've never seen Pakistanis be so lazy as I have seen them this past summer. Pakistani citizens have become such a bunch of lazy fat arses. Makes me want to become a cardiologist just so that I can leech off the rich lazy gulab jamun fatties that cruise into work at 1:00 pm, only to leave at 4.

Re: Terrorism?

soon..inshallah..karacites will throw them out of power in 2007 elections...Musharraf ...never uttered a single word against MQM for what brutalitality these beast shown to Karachites ..but in a high level meeting...ordered PML...to show support to MQM instead of blaming that...Musharraf is on now cheap way of supporting MQM ...on ethnic bases as he is himself Muhajir and from Karachi !!!!

Re: Terrorism?

i doubt it is along ethnic lines as much as it is about holding on to power.

Re: Terrorism?

^ dekha. this is what I'm talking about.

abhay, it has nothing to do with Musharraf's ancestry. It has to do with the simple fact that Musharraf's govenrment is dealing with a spoilt brat of a judicial justice that is going political now, instead of cooperating with the judicial system...(ironic by the way! I mean, if he thinks he should still be chief justice, and thinks he's been doing a good job, then why have fear of the judicial system? I mean it can't be corrupt, because he obviously must have done a magnificent job!), and this all poses a great problem to the Musharraf governemnt, since its nothing short of a political overthrow (with the way politics works in Pakistan). So, you go to bed with your enemy. Mush may not love the MQM, but he certainly is willing to have a political sleepover with them to get this Chaudry-creep out of the way.

And it worked. The minute the violence in Karachi started, this pee-brain Chaudry got right back on his plane and got the heck out of Karachi. Meanwhile, what lives were lost in all this firing...did poor Chaudry jee care? Did anyone care? No.

I'm telling you. In this situation - its either keep Musharraf and have some progress for Pakistan, or boot him out and have idiots who obviously lack political savviness in power. This Chaudry-highness can't handle Karachi, how the hell is he going to tiptoe his way around Afghanistan, Iraq War, American pressures, Kashmir, India, MMA, religious extremists, etc?

Iman se, I have so many galian bubbling up inside me towards this not-so Chief of a bacha justice.

Re: Terrorism?

woh udhar bhi jalsay karwa lay ga :)

Re: Terrorism?

Yeah that's all he's good for. Jalsas. Reminds me of the kid in class who complains a whole lot, but does nothing in the end.

His mother didn't beat him enough.

Re: Terrorism?

okay quick question, does he have shifty eyes or does he have a problem with his eyes, I dot get it. I am being serious.

Re: Terrorism?

I don't know. I can't look at his face for more than 2 seconds. He's ugly.

Re: Terrorism?

:konfused:

Re: Terrorism?

i meant he always appears to be looking kinda away, and I was wondering if its because he is hiding his eyes..or does he have similar eye problems like zia did. cross eyed I mean.

Re: Terrorism?

correct...but when his chair is shaking...he is on the way of ethnicity...a drowning man catches at a straw....
