Trump has already started the annihilation campaign against Isis where the mandate is to kill and not let them escape or take them prisoners and ISIS has lost most of the territory, I think this will further the resolve to eradicate them. Once the ideological leaders are gone things will subside

Aside from working with authorities to preemptively strike against such suspects, what can we do?
Anyone can rent a truck from home depot and with isis on the run, they will do more such attacks even if it is their last hurrah. It is going the way of Red Brigade in Europe or black panthers here in the 60s / 70s. You can reduce the frequency but you literally cannot stop it.

What if they start sending the radicalised ones and their families back. I know in Arab countries they had entire nationalities getting kicked out on short notice. They are showing inclination towards not taking basic human rights into consideration as seen by execution of fighters in ME and no regards for civilian casualties. Not that I am promoting it but it is starting to become a possibility. The guy who tried to run over people in our city was known for his extreme views.

Immigrants have no rights when it comes to serious issues but taking the israeli approach or what they have in FCR (Pakistan) might not fly in the US.
In fact, I wouldn’t want to be in this country when a time comes that you are put into jail and/or deported just because someone in your family did it or you look like the “terrorists”. Terrorists would’ve really won that day.

No one wants it but it all depends on the voters, eventually they will get a lot tougher on the ideological supporters and motivators. The only people this will hurt is peaceful Muslims, terrorists don’t win, Isis has been ravaged. For everyone they kill they go back and kill a thousand.

The only problem is the law of unintended consequences.
They won’t be able to make it muslim specific (ripe for lawsuits) so it will be generic to everyone and as we find out now, anti-drug laws aren’t fair to whites when they were set up in the nixon era to target the blacks to splinter their power. There are tons of white nutcases out there whose whole families can swarm the prisons.
