Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

^ I wonder who really set the fire?

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

every reputable establishment should have fire extinguisher, put it out get it fixed:)

the idea is not to stand watching as the damage extends, wouldn't you agree?

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

Maybe the U.S. and Jews set it through mind control Kaleem, Muslims afterall are very easy to manipulate.

Fire extinguishers don't put out fire producing factories (tomahawks do). The perceived 'injustices' some Muslims feel being directed towards them in no way justifies the acts we see being committed (or attempted) in fact these fire producing factories are merely using so called western grievences to recuit and push their own extreme ideology and that my friend needs to be addressed by Muslims because one of these times that cell phone call is going to go through and things are going to get really ugly.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

UTD, I was not pointing at US or jews.
The perceive 'injustices'
Herein lies the problem. Your refusal to admit that injustices have been committed by US and western world in general. Your refusal to admit that US and UK's foreign policies are unbalanced and almost always hurt the muslim nations.

Are these "fire producing" factories using these grievances because they are real? Of course they are. When folks like you refuse to condemn the killings of children and putting people in refugee camps by Israel. When the muslim nation is bombed for no other reason but to protect oil (both in 1991 and 2003). When a wicked witch like Madeline not so Bright says that death of millions of children is no big deal. When Afghanistan is turned back into a "afheem" state and feudal lords reclaim the govt...the very thing that was the start of it all. How do you expect muslims to listen to what you have to say?

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

when you come to the conclusion that wilful agreement is the best way forward, then you could possibly have a pretence to being able to look at yourself as a man of peace and sensibility. peace and assured tranquilty will only come when the west moves closer to the east. globalisation is being pushed and with this, countries need to come to a fairer broader collaboration. if certain nations only want to be alligned with traditional allies to the detriment of others then friction is to be expected.

the iraq war is being touted as a reason for an increase in extremist sentiments, the iraq war as we all accept was based on lies and deceit. now that plain fact initself is a solid proof of the contempt shown by western nations.

all this at a time when the west already had more then a finger of suspicion pointed at it.

the west certainly does need to move, possibly even to act first and initiate a genuine multilateral dialogue. otherwise globalisation will be long hard troublesome change.

and that my friend needs to be addressed by Muslims because one of these times that cell phone call is going to go through and things are going to get really ugly.

muslims recognise the security concerns of the west. this is certainly an area where muslim nations can make progress in the coming years. the problem here is the percentage of people who have genuine supicion of the west. what we need to do is kill off the ideology and the suspicions behined that ideology. if the suspicions exists then anti western minds of varying plans and stances will exist also. this is the reason why only a genuine effort for mutual understanding will work. fobbing off wont work even if the muslim world is easy to fob off.

cell calls will only add to the problems now and in the future. lets face it a confidence building measure before anything happens will be a better option.

as things stand i suggest the west moves first as it has a spokesman, suspicion doesnt. it would be better for the war on terror if the west confirmed in highprofile statements their true allegiances and foreign policy goals to enable governments rather then common people to take up the issues with them

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

i’m not commenting about PAKIS, but by my experience i feel somalians are good and innocent and they fear god, and they can’t do such things
Minneapolis is the refuge camp for Somalians and i came across plenty of them when i was there

‘Kill all Pakis’ slogan appears on Glasgow walls](http://thenews.jang.com.pk/top_story_detail.asp?Id=8780)

**By Rauf Klasra

LONDON: **Some 35,000 Pakistanis living in Glasgow face a threat of a violent backlash from the white British community amid overnight wall-chalking urging people to “kill all the Pakis”, after two apparently Asian men tried to blow up the city airport on Saturday.

This is the first time that any such terrorist activity has taken place in Glasgow where around 50,000 Muslims, including 35,000 Pakistanis, live. The Pakistanis now feeling under siege after this incident.

The first minister of the British government was rushing to Glasgow to hold urgent meetings with intelligence agencies, police departments and the local community leaders to stop violent reaction against the Pakistanis. Efforts were under way to defuse the tension amid the renewed fears of racial riots.

Meanwhile, police have started searching the houses of the Asians, mostly Pakistanis, after getting some clues that the terrorists who tried to blow the airport were from the same community.

Member of House of Commons Mohammad Sarwar from Glasgow confirmed to The News that slogans like “Kill all the Pakis” had started appearing on the walls and roads of the city after this terrorist activity. Mohammad Sarwar was concerned about the possibility of racial attacks and said Pakistanis were scared since it was announced that the attackers were “Asian-looking” men.

“Although, so far, the identity of attackers who tried to blow up the airport has not been made public, we apprehend that they would turn out to be Muslims,” Sarwar said. Earlier, the situation in Glasgow had started to deteriorate after reports that two Asian looking young men had tried to blow up the city airport by ramming their burning vehicle full of explosives into the terminal. Both were overpowered by the police with the help of passengers.

But, the following morning, thousands of scared Pakistanis woke up to find the walls of the city splashed with slogans like ìkill all the Pakisî. Mohammad Sarwar, MP, who enjoys a lot of respect in the local community is trying hard to bring peace among the communities.

Sarwar was instrumental in getting three Pakistani youths extradited from Islamabad where they had fled after killing a 12-year-old white boy in a racial attack. Last week, Mohammad Sarwar announced that he was retiring from politics after facing threats from the heirs of the extradited boys who were later sentenced to jails for the rest of their lives. But, the extradition of the Pakistani killers followed by their sentence had helped maintain racial harmony between the Pakistanis and the white population.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

^^ what else do these British Pakistanis expect?

these pakistanis move to a country where they are not welcome, bring in their relatives in a constant stream, become extremists, live off welfare and get involved in crime, and applaud terrorists when do this kind of stuff and then don't understand why the white britishers hate them?

ever wonder why BNP only targets Pakistanis and not Indians

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

Simple. Confront the problem. Muslims have no problem with the west. We have problems with western policies. Why then do terrorists park their nail laden cars in public spaces? Why do they ram a barbeque into an airport terminal? These people are not muslims. They are psychopaths. The very fact you're defending and legitimizing their actions is disgraceful. You should be condemning their act as something definitively "unislamic".

Lets get level headed muslims together and deport these lunatic imams and their followers. If you want to wage a war on the west, you shouldnt be allowed to wage it from within. Dont abuse the rights and privelages the UK has given you to destroy the lives of ordinary British citizens. If you want to murder thousands of innocent people, atleast have the courtesy to go home to your god-forsaken tyrannical homeland and just who persecutes who.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

Unfortunate but inevitable.

This outcome could have been predicted. Imagine a radicalized Christian minority living in Pakistan that planned these kinds of attacks against Pakistan. Is there anyone who doesn’t think a KFC or 2 would be set ablaze? Or that some mullahs would be crying out for revenge? Churches attacked or Christians otherwised targeted? I think graffiti would be the most minor of reprisals.

With this latest episode, the writing is on the walls I am afraid.

Good News

Most of the Suspects are Arabs

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070702/ap_on_re_eu/britain_terrorism

LONDON - An Iraqi physician and a Palestinian doctor working at British hospitals were identified Monday among those held in the failed car bomb attacks on London and Glasgow, while authorities announced the arrest of an eighth suspect and extended their probe overseas.

Officers used heightened stop-and-search powers and armed response vehicles to hunt for anyone else who might have been involved in the plot, and police put on a show of force to bolster security at airports and train stations and on city streets.

Police said Monday night that another man had been arrested in the plot at an “undisclosed location.” Officials declined to comment on a British Broadcasting Corp. report, citing unidentified sources, that the suspect was detained in another country it did not specify.

A British security official said earlier that Pakistan and several other nations had been asked to check possible links with the suspects. British-born terrorists behind the bloody 2005 London transit bombings and others in thwarted plots here were linked to terror training camps and foreign radicals in Pakistan.

“We have asked partners overseas to check possible links and that work has begun,” the security official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the case.

Authorities said police searched at least 19 locations as part of the “fast-moving investigation,” which has come at a time of already high vigilance before the anniversary of the suicide bombings in London that killed 52 people on July 7, 2005.

In the latest attacks, two car bombs failed to explode in central London on Friday and two men rammed a Jeep Cherokee loaded with gas cylinders into the entrance of Glasgow International Airport and then set it on fire Saturday.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown said the group behind the attacks is “associated with al-Qaida.”

The government security official said investigators were working on one theory that the same people may have driven the explosives-laden cars into London and the blazing SUV in Glasgow.

The unidentified driver of the Jeep was being treated for serious burns at Royal Alexandra Hospital in Glasgow, where he was under arrest by armed police. Bomb experts carried out a second controlled explosion on a car at the hospital Monday, after a similar blast Sunday. Police said the car was linked to the investigation, but no explosives had been found.

Police also announced they arrested two men Sunday at residences at the hospital, but would not say if the men were doctors. Four men and a woman had been detained earlier.

Authorities identified Bilal Abdulla, an Iraqi doctor who worked at the Glasgow hospital, as the other man arrested at the airport and said he was being held at a high-security police station in Glasgow.

According to the British General Medical Council’s register, a man named Bilal Talal Abdul Samad Abdulla was registered in 2004 and trained in Baghdad. Staff at the Glasgow hospital said Abdulla was a diabetes specialist.

A man arrested late Saturday on a highway in central England was another physician, Mohammed Jamil Abdelqader Asha, police said. A Jordanian official said Asha was of Palestinian descent and carried a Jordanian passport.

Britain’s Sky News said a third suspect among those held was also a doctor, but gave no details. Police would not confirm the report.

“This case could be the final proof that an idea those involved in these type of attacks are all young, angry and poorly educated is a mistake,” said Paul Cornish, a former British army officer and director of defense studies at London’s Chatham House think tank.

“It’s wrong to suggest al-Qaida are ignorant hill men. They are often middle or upper class and well educated,” Cornish said.

Former U.S intelligence officer Bob Ayers, now a security analyst based in London, said wealth or intelligence matters little to people committed to extremism.

“We shouldn’t be surprised that educated men are as involved as poor youngsters,” he said. “They all subscribe to the same radical ideology, that’s the only criteria they need to fill.”

Salil Vengalil, a doctor at North Staffordshire Hospital, near the Midlands town of Newcastle-under-Lyme, said Asha worked in the neurology department at that hospital.

A doctor at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Glasgow, who refused to give his name, said he recognized Asha as a doctor who also kept an office there; the hospital would not confirm that.

In Amman, Jordan, Asha’s father, Jamil, denied his 26-year-old son had any terrorist leanings.

“My son is a moderate Muslim and carried out his religious duties, but he never embraced fanaticism,” Jamil Asha told The Associated Press.

Information also surfaced Monday suggesting authorities had been close on the trail of the alleged plotters before the attack at the Glasgow airport.

Rental agent Daniel Gardiner, whose company leased a Glasgow-area house searched by police, said officers contacted his firm just before the airport blaze, saying they had tracked phone records linked to the property.

Officials recovered at least one cell phone from the car bombs in London, Rep. Peter King of New York, the senior Republican on the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee, said Friday after being briefed about the London situation.

As the investigation spread, police flooded London’s subway and train stations, even clamping down on access to the Wimbledon tennis tournament, where concrete blocks were set in front of the main entrance.

The heavy police presence around Parliament didn’t deter tourists, who thronged the area, posing for photographs near the heavily fortified entrance to the prime minister’s Downing Street office.

In a statement to the House of Commons, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith urged Britons to remain united.

“Let us be clear: terrorists are criminals, whose victims come from all walks of life, communities and religious backgrounds,” she said. “Terrorists attack the values that are shared by all law-abiding citizens. It is through our unity that the terrorists will eventually be defeated.”

Associated Press writers Ben McConville in Glasgow, Rob Harris; in Newcastle-under-Lyme, England; and Shafika Mattar in Amman, Jordan, contributed to this report.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

It's times like these when I am struck at how inappropriate the cultural custom of naming children "Mohammed" can be.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

the bnp see pakistanis and indians and blacks as the same. the bnp ideology comes from a historic figure with initials 1st and 8th letters of the alphabet. that makes the bnp your problem

i do agree however that communities of pakistani descent in other parts of the world should not let down their fellow compatriats.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

they should claim responsibility but nto full responsibility, because the monster they helped create was not controleld, successive groups used it for their own purposes, and no one said anything. proxy wars..use the monster, need a friendly regime, use the monster.

so plenty of blame to go around, but when you see MMA leaders presiding over graduation ceremonies of madrissas with militant tendencies, it just shows that something is not right big time.

Pakistan had an opportunity to minimize the influence of these goons past the soviet war, hell even that OBL idiot went back to his homeland, but then successive govts kept using these mercenaries for their own purposes, so a big problem got bigger and bigger.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

Fraudia bhaijaan, are you so naive to suggest that "foriegn" forces did not urge Mushy to use these so called "goons" as he saw fit. It is indeed a continuation.... there is no doubtr that Pakistani leaders had a chance to minimize the damages, however, I formly believe that as long as foriegn elements are involved, change will be almost impossible.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

Why give reasoning to bigotry? I do not think majority of British appreciate this slogan and it is not like the people who wrote this on the wall will be attacking extremists only. They, just like the terrorists, will not discriminate.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

I don't think majority of British do either. By me stating the obvious isn't excusing it, it's only pointing out the obvious.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

first of all, musharraf came into play recently, there were plenty of ppl in leadership before him who did not do anything.

I am not quite sure which 'foriegn' forces urged Pakistan to wage a proxy war in Indian occupied kashmir, nor did anyone force Pakistan to install and support Taleban.

Nor do I know of any foriegh forces that forced Pakistan to let groups liek sipah e sahaba and sipah e muhammad go unchecked for decades.

I also dont know of any foriegn forces that are forcing pakistani govt to allow MMA folks to preside over militant madrassa graduations..even to this day.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

The obvious has always been the segment that hijack our religion to further their ideology. The major flaw in 'war on terror' is to ignore it.

Re: Terror attack stopped in London; Bomb found, defused.

Shabash make life more difficult for us lot who will now have to suffer abuse from all corners. Today It's 'kill all the pakis' tomorrow don't know what.
