I don’t know of any designer who goes on sites such as this one and defends him/herself; there is a whole load of crap here about Karma/HSY/Bunto but i believe none of them have the time nor feel the need to defend themselves as their work speaks much louder. The fact that this guy is going back and forth arguing with the lady – puts his quality of work and his use of creative time in question.
Sorry Mr. Designer- just sharing an observation.
Re: Terrible experience with desiger''Moazzam Abbasi' in Karachi??'
Oh my goodness. This seems like children in a playground!
Moral of the story, If you wanna get your wedding dress do it advance OR be local so you wont have this drama!
Honestly this is awful.

Totally agree. You shouldnt be arguing but jus show your work
and to the Lady i suggest you should of took pics of the lehnga to proove it.
okay..so i guess most of us want to see the pics of both the dressses.
…or atleast the dress by moazzam abbasi!!
Please do post a pic up..
To post a pic:
click on advanced reply …and on the bottom of the message type-in box .. there is an option “image upload”. … click on it ..attach the pic and copy paste the link in the message type-in box..
Thank you
MixedBeauty i dont think maya can post pics of the lehenga, she said she had posted it to the designer's sister.
also, to the designer, whats the big deal if she made changes to how she wanted the dress? she just wanted it to be perfect as anyone would, anyone would want the best and as a designer you're supposed to take your customer's questions, queries, opinions, ideas on board at the very least, not call it interference!
Re: Terrible experience with desiger''Moazzam Abbasi' in Karachi??'
Mr Abbasi one of the lady told you the procedure to upload pic on board...so plz do follow the instructions and all ppls will see your 'shahkar'' of 65.000 Rs.
But plz upload the pic of the dress you sent me not from your other rubbish collections. As its prooved no one on board knows even your name as a 'DESIGNER'' and they will see your quality work and all lies with their eyes.
You all ppls can see this guy language and try to threat me to go in my personal life.He doesn't even know me in person, and emailed me several times and used very abusive language so its not strange about him.
As some one already mentioned SHY,KARMAt'' and other big names they dont' have time to come on this board and clear their postion if some one had a bad experience with them but YES like your type of designers have lots of time to try hard to clear their position.
THANKS if you have courage to upload the right pic here....
Re: Terrible experience with desiger''Moazzam Abbasi' in Karachi??'
Sorry to hear your story, but I don't get why you didn't take any pictures before sending it back?
Re: Terrible experience with desiger''Moazzam Abbasi' in Karachi??'
That was a biggest mistake I ever made in my life not to take the pic.Because I was not expecting that type of 3rd class work and had 2-3,dys in wedding I was panicked so i parceled back to her sister right after few hours to let him know I have not used it ...so tomorrow he can't blame me I had used it.
I had no idea that he can steep that leve to keep my money
i just have to point out that my bridal jora was beautiful and full of kaam and for 62,000 rupees including the profit for the lady who made it, so i'm not sure why 65,000 wasn't enough for this one.
From what I hear, there has been quite a bit of inflation over the past year or two. My cousins recently told me that even reputable zari houses in Lahore and Karachi won't do bridal orders for less than Rs 100,000, let alone "designers."
Frankly I'm a little skeptical of both sides in this story. If Ms. Maya was expecting "SHY" (seriously, who name drops designers like that without even being able to spell the names correctly?) quality for Rs. 65,000 then she's bound to be disappointed. There's a reason why HSY bridals start at around Rs 200,000 - to expect the same level of quality from a dress that cost less than a third of that is absurd.
On the other hand, if Mr. Abbasi remotely valued his reputation as a designer, he never would have agreed to do a bridal outfit on such a tight budget. Even from his own description, it sounds like the embroidery on the outfit was of low quality...sequins and kundan work belong on cheap Indian outfits, not on designer Pakistani bridal wear. A real designer would have turned her away with that budget rather than putting out shoddy work just to get another order.
Re: Terrible experience with desiger''Moazzam Abbasi' in Karachi??'
^ i only got married two years ago, but i'm going soon for my cousin's and sil to be's wedding shopping iA so i'll be able to better comment on this in a few weeks.
Re: Terrible experience with desiger''Moazzam Abbasi' in Karachi??'
You all will agre with me,
Four yrs ago In 2006, 65.000 Rs was a sufficient amount to get a quality out fit.As far as purchasing HSY (SHY it was typo mistake)was my last option coz Where I live I in USA most of the botiques are Indian.I had no choice to buy a quality dress to save my respect in my family and friends and a wedding of 400 guets. When it comes to your reputation and rspect in your familly you don't care how much you paying...
Re: Terrible experience with desiger''Moazzam Abbasi' in Karachi??'
I STILL WANT HIM TO DISPLAY THE PIC OF THE OUT FIT HERE ON BOARD TO PROVE HIMSELF A GOOD DESIGNER.....HIS WORK WILL SPEAK UP.
Re: Terrible experience with desiger''Moazzam Abbasi' in Karachi??'
I hate to burst everyone bubble, specially people who believe they know designers really well.. So many mis-understanding etc.
maria B bridals can cost at around 80K
HSY will and can make you an outfit for 1 lakh,
Bunto will and can also make an outfit for 1.5 lakhs
Sana Safina's again 1 lakh
Nomi Ansari has made bridal outfits for 80K as well.
a Good designer is one who works within his/her customers budget. At times customers want something they saw in a magazine or their vision for their outfit can not be made in their budget, but that doesn't mean the designer can not offer them something else, without compromising qaulity and style. That is a good designer, not someone who says he or she can only work within a budget of 2 lakhs or above, that is ridiculous and don't you think, that it isn't very creative. I mean this person went to college, got a degree or diploma in Fashion. This person knows how to work a piece of garmet etc etc etc if this person is not creative enough, then he/she isn't really an artist or a designer.
Yes there are a few designer who are stuck up to the point of no return, aka Mehdi, but a lot of people do not go to him cause of his attitude!
We hear so much on GS, that this is the prices this designer has etc etc, when you actually go yourself, its surprising how much cheaper they are. I'm saying this because I have first hand experiences with these designers. Also many many many people in Pakistan can not afford to spend 1 or 2 or 8 lakhs on one jora. It is still a third world country, yes a tiny minority is fairly well off, but again the word MINORITY. I don't mean to be rude, but this Maussum Abbas dude just pisses me off, his designers are crap, his work and the material he uses is cheap. I went to his store in karachi and was utterly dissappointed, it looked like Paaposh ka kapra and kam was nasty. The funny thing was his prices were competing with Nomi Ansari's and Sublimes.
No offense, it is not the cost that makes a jora or anything even furniture elegant or pretty, but it is a person taste. Money is just secondary to taste. We recently have seen one or two bunto's that haven't been very pretty, and some HSY's that seem repetitive. Its all in a person's taste and how well they are able to carry it off.
I hate to burst everyone bubble, specially people who believe they know designers really well.. So many mis-understanding etc.

And what will it take to make them go as low as those prices? I'm assuming the bridals will not be as heavy as their regular ones.
On another note, can Maya and the 'designer' please stop bashing each other with the same words again and again? It's getting repetitive, and as everyone else has said, go ahead and post pictures to justify your claims. I don't see any point for this thread to stay open. Please move forward or it will be closed down. Thank you.
P.S- Dolcevita: You can still continue to tell us the secret ways to get those amazing deals from all the designers ;-)
Re: Terrible experience with desiger''Moazzam Abbasi' in Karachi??'
As I mentioned in past i didn't take pic of dress and sent him back right away...he claims he has it so he should have post pic to defend himself...but I know he won't because he doen't want to shocked all ppls here like me and will be disappreard...trust me
Re: Terrible experience with desiger''Moazzam Abbasi' in Karachi??'
I am so positive He must be reading these mails every day but not displaying the pic and its enough to proove myself...now if you wanna close this thread its okay with me.At least now thousand off ppls know about his quallity work and class....thank you so very much everyone for sharing.
I’m guessing that comment is in response to my post (a little passive aggressive, don’t you think?)
I have no experience with Maria B or Nomi Ansari, so I won’t comment on that. However, I did shop for HSY bridals back in '01-'02 when he was first starting out, and I recall that even then a relatively simple bridal outfit started at around Rs. 125,000. I have relatives who have gone back for bridalwear more recently, and have heard from several people that the prices have gone up to around 200,000. I can believe it, considering the fact that when I was ordering formal sarees from him last year, some of his simplest pieces were priced at 80,000+.
I’d also point you to the Karma website, which actually has prices posted online.
Karma Collection
The cheapest Karma bridal I see (mostly older, simpler designs…some of which look more like formal outfits to be honest) are priced at $1,500 or Rs 130,000. The vast majority seem to be in the $2,200-$3,200 range (Rs 190,000-270,000).
Re: Terrible experience with desiger''Moazzam Abbasi' in Karachi??'
^Last week, I was quoted 3,50,000 for a 4-years old bridal of hsy. According to his assistants, his starting price is 3 lakhs. I don't mind paying if it was worth it but they sent me upclose pictures of the kaam which totally disappointed me. The kaam was so average, I was expecting something alot better for the price quoted to me.
Re: Terrible experience with desiger’‘Moazzam Abbasi’ in Karachi??’
I dont get how u both found each other on GS? or did you find him on GS? i dont get this at all
