Effin A! Still no where as good as both Terminator 1 and 2 (dont even talk about terminator 3)… The crude references to Terminator 2 were amazing, especially how John Conner (Bale) played Guns and Roses’s OST from Terminator 2, ‘you could be mine’ to lure one of those scooterbots. What a trip back into the good ol 90s when real GnR reigned supreme! Good stuff!! The only thing it was missing was Conner going ‘Hasta La Vista Babay’, when he pressed that button to level Skynet San Frans.!

I saw this at the Imax (yay!) ...bale even used the "ill be back" dialogue and of course arnold's cameo, he looked really good, as in youthful...(i heard that was a computer generated image though?) ...im partial to bale so i enjoyed the movie. there was a lot more 'action' and a lot less drama as compared to the T1 and T2 though. but the visuals and action in "salvation" were fantastic. Skynet is far from defeated and there is definitely a T5 in the future...

Yep that arnold thing was CGI, because arnold the budda right now has an old sagging body, you must have seen some beach pictures the pappers took recently! lol They made him exactly how he was in terminator 1! Sarah Conner? POOF!
Bale is an amazing actor, be it american psycho or him playing a 13 year old boy in the empire of the sun, but he was a little pinned down in this movie; ostensibly because the storyline was shaky. I mean how did the entire resistance just disobey the command, and support him to delay the attack? Also, as powerful as the T800 was, why didnt he just strangle John in one go, why play around by throwing him all over the place? And skynet ,with all its might kept ONE terminator in their GRAND plan to kill John when he comes in? I mean these are machines well versed in human anatomy and designed to kill humans!

yeah it was kinda lame how easily both marcus and connor infiltrated the skynet headquarters.
alot of hate for the film is also probably due to bale's cursing spree a while ago during shooting for the film...
yeah...terminator 3 was a piece of garbage...they should like remove it from history...act like it never happened.

You know Reese from Terminator 1 was my favourite character in the series, and the guy who played him in the 80s flick did an amazing job, but the one in T4 looked like a wuss, seriously... I mean they prolly kept it that way so that he doesnt overshadow marcus and john's characters, but that was also a moot point of the movie. At the end of terminator 2, it seemed like John Conner would stop judgement day, but its now obvious he failed.
Also, I am assuming Kate Conner (the pregnant doc), John's wife, was katheryn bruster from terminator 3 (played by claire danes)????

The ending in Skynet was extremely stupid. I am amazed that only 2 machines attacked John Connor after all these years once he was in Skynet, and the resistance was allowed onto the roof of Skynet without any maching attacking them. I can't get over that. It was alright ... Star Trek has been the movie of the summer. This one was just disappointing.

This movie wasn't spectacular, but it was a good summer action blockbuster. Non-stop action. **** constantly being blown up, etc. etc. Yes, the dialogue wasn't top notch. No, this wasn't close to as good as Star Trek is.
I guess I can see what people are complaining about with Bale, but I believe it's much more part of the written character than his acting. How else is the character supposed to be played? I thought he was fine.
It's quite obvious, though, judging by critic reviews, that there is a backlash from the Bale rant and from McG directing this. It's not Scorsese, but some people are just ripping it up unfairly. It is what it is; a summer action blockbuster with a lot of **** blown up.
I liked the style, though. It was a good looking flick. (But that McG "Directed by" credit after the intro scene was ****ing disgusting).
Because John’s father, Reese was sent back in time (in Terminator 1) to save Sarah Conner (john’s mother), and ends up falling in love with Sarah. While on the run from the big bad terminator sent out to kill Sarah, reese and sarah do the hippidiedoo and John is conceived. So if Reese dies, there is no John, and if there is no John, there is no resistance. Talk about a paradox!
