i would like to read life stories of prophets and books on islamic jurisprudence.
Well, about history I did bring this 3-Vol set called History of Islam from Lahore last year but haven't read it Yet. It is written by Akbar Shah Najeebabadi and is revised by Safi-ur-Rahman Mubarakpuri.
As for your second one, I have read this books called Stories of the Prophet. It is written by Ibn Kathir and translated into english by Rashad Ahmad Azami. This book was real good. I got it from my friend and finished it in like a day. Then I bought my own when I went to Pak last year.
As for islamic jurisprudence, I need to buy books in this category so can't help you there. :)

Im reading the **"Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night" *by Mark Haddon...good stuff...
Also just finished *"Intimacy" **by Hanif Kureishi...Dushwari i reckon you'll like it...its the best characterisation iv ever read of someone...its about a guy whos about to leave his wife and kids and every thought that goes through his head the day before...you dont want to but as a man you can relate quite a bit to some of the things he says and as a woman you get a sense of why men do what they do...
if u like to read some biography of muslim heros such as mohammad bin qasim or Shaheen (turkish salar) or tipu sultan than u can read the work of Naseem Hijazi
such as :Moahammad bin Qasim, Aur talwar toot gayi , akhri chittan, qafla hijazi these are all great books but only if u understand good urdu…
I'd say, read nasim Hijazi's novels about Islamic History. I havea compete set in my closet. Simply beautiful books, a must read for anyone who knows Urdu. He writs history and explains the situation on the level of common people which makes it very easy to understand the actual contexts of the situation at that time. I have learned many aspects of Muslim History from his novels.
The most influential and immaculate novel which literally made me cry was "Qaafla-e-Hijaaz"...... No match at all
Aakhri Chattaan, Yousuf Bin Tashfeen, Shaheen, Kaleesa aur aag, you name it, every novel is a gem of its own......
intinmacy really a good one
the best books i think on Prophet :saw: is BY Martin Linggs
and if you are into classical reading Horn of Africa (Unknown Author)
Both are political books, the 1st one deals with mexican immigration into USA and the 2nd one deals with how neo-cons have screwed the republican party
