I just finished The Rule of Four. It started off well at first, but it started to drag on from about the middle till the end. It sort of left you hanging to sort through all of the historical references. Totally disappointed.

I tried reading The Devil Wears Prada. I am having trouble getting through the long listed references to various designers and socialites. The author has trouble getting to the point. I am sure the movie will probably get right down to the point.
I'm in the mood for a light romance, but I don't know what to pick up.

Read the Other Side of the Story by Marian Keyes. I love her books ... funny chick lit.

I would like to share the best book I have read this year. Its called "Three cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin. I am not into reading biographies, memoirs etc ...just never developed a taste for them. But I immediately put a request or this book after I read an article in 'Parade' about it.
This book is a superb and moving story of an exceptional man who was an average Joe going through life until a mountaineering accident changed the course of his life .
Greg Mortenson was a mountain climbing buff, the only reason he worked as an ER nurse was because the flexible schedule allowed him to take expeditions for mountain climbing at a minuet's notice. In the summer of 1993, Mortenson, became separated from his group during a chaotic descent from Pakistan’s K2, the world’s second-highest peak. Lost, frozen, starving, and dehydrated, he stumbled into the remote mountain village of Korphe at harvest time. While recuperating in Korphe, Mortenson noticed that the village had no school and children did their lessons by scratching twigs in the sand on a mountain ridge.He promised to built them a school. It was a day that changed Mortenson’s life, as well as the villagers’.The promise was an impetuous one since, at the time, Mortenson had no job or, indeed, a home.Back in U.S he typed out 580 letters asking celebrities or money (only Tom Brokaw ( a news person) sent a $100 check).
The book is the story of how Mortenson, living in his car while working as a nurse's assistant, nevertheless managed to build his first school--and then dozens thereafter.
I was fascinated, awed and amazed by this book. I was thoroughly entertained as well as deeply touched by this book.

I'm in the mood for a light romance, but I don't know what to pick up.
dunno if it counts as romance, but The Time Traveler's Wife, by audrey niffeneger is really good.

I liked the book…but the ending was ‘hollywoodish’. From her writing you can tell she expects this book to be a movie.

i read a book..its called 'princess' by jean sassoon
oh my goodness! it was CRAZY good. it talks about the lives of the women of saudi arabia..and if u've ever wondered what goes on in the holy land..check out the book. the govt that rules in the name of islam..is unveiled by a princess who had this book written secretly. it is a MUST read if you ever want to talk about the status of women in islam.

^ i just read a book called 'mirage'
..and it sounds quite similar to the book you've read.
it's about the life of one woman, who's lived in a harem, ends up getting married to a guy that was arranged for her - and who she ends up escaping the country because of the abuses she's gone through.
it's pretty good - take a read.

it's an essay book on human trait of wickedness. :>

depends on which category you want to concentrate in. Biographies of Prophet & Sahabas (my fav. categ.), Biographies of Muslims later on, Books pertaining to Quran & Hadith....etc... Let me know and I will be happy to share.:)
