so far what i have seen here \its in sane
u guys hate each other
is that what islam teaches ?
i think b/c of ppl like u the ummah is not united and Allah and Rasool(SAW) is not happy with u
how do u then think u will be in jannat when u cant keep peace which is he meaning of islam???

i really doubt if the muslims can ever be united..if the muslims can fight with Imam Ali (as) then dont be surprised when they fight with His (as) followers...we can respect each others views but i dont think we can be united :)

The rest of what you wrote was good, and I'm really sorry but this statement just made me laugh.
Its like when our Sunni bretheren say that Muawiyah fought severe battles against Imam Ali and yet they were both right and both had a great love and respect for each other! Take some time to read up on Islamic History when muslims fought muslims. I wrote some of it in the other discussion thread.
Come on, no one except the fanatics will endorse violence, but really, lets be realistic and call it as it is and as it was.
As for the Iran - Iraq war, millions got killed and although many of the Iraqi Shias enlisted in the Iraqi army as common soldiers for fear of Saddam's reprisals against them and their families did desert (the official figure runs into 100s of thousands) when they got into Iranian territory, there was no love lost between the ruling elite and their "fellow muslim brothers". Anyway, the Iraq-Iran war wasn't a Sunni-Shia thing to start with. Iraq - ruling elite of the Ba'athist regime- was and still is a SECULAR government. Most people say Saddam was following orders when he attacked Iran, which was felt to be the biggest danger to the interests of certain nations at that time when the people overthrew the Shah to establish democracy.
