I don’t think so because our national anthem is written by Hafiz Jalhenderi and he is not our national poet. I don’t know what are the terms and conditions for national poet but looking at Iqbal and every one knows him as Pakistan’s national poet I can think it might have to do with your poetry written in your language or about your country.
