ha ha.. no matter how you want to spin it the fact remains that he was an Indian. Republic of India as in modern country state is not too old, like all the countries in the world but still India is and was India.
Following your logic arabs never attacked India, british never ruled India. with little effort you can find many ridiculous examples.
You can call him your national poet ( infect you can call any person your national poet be it me or shakespere ), like we do, but you cannnot call him a pakistani.
