Telephone manners

OK, I totally don’t understand why people eat on the phone. I cannot stand the sound of chewing and crunching noises on the phone. It takes away from the conversation and it’s bad manners, period.

So this friend of mine called me today and had to discuss an extremely serious issue. Meanwhile, she is chomping on her bag of potato chips. Tell me, will I take her seriously? Heck no. In fact I’m so annoyed because that crunching sound is resonating in my ears. I told her that I need to go, and that she can call me when she’s done with her lunch. Frankly, I don’t care if she got hurt.

Re: Telephone manners

people calling at odd hours, infact i think unless its an emergency you should send an sms before calling in case the other person is busy or just not in the mood 2 talk :chai:.

:bummer: oh well, i guess it just don’t like talking on the phone! :snooty:

Re: Telephone manners

Well, I don't mind. My best friend does it all the time when we Skype. Munches on crisps etc. I don't think it is rude. For me this matter is very trivial. I don't pay attention to it. I however, never eat while talking to someone on the phone or Skype.

Re: Telephone manners

People calling ..not leaving message ... calling back with in 2 mins ... still not leaving message .. now calling home phone (oh maybe he did not want to pick up his cell phone but may pick the home phone even though the same jerk is calling) .. not leaving message .. now calling wife's phone .. still not leaving message.

Re: Telephone manners

It's different when there is a visual. Let me call you and eat potato chips, then we'll come back here and report?

Re: Telephone manners

I am going to call you while eating Pakistani mango.

I am going to call you at 2 midnight.

For you have to think of something different.

I am going to call you and not leave a message. Then will call after 2 mins and again dont leave message. Then will call your home phone, wife’s phone and still not leave a message.
I am not a jerk though :frowning:

Re: Telephone manners

Thank goodness you don’t have my number :hayaa:

Re: Telephone manners

I dislike it very much when you call someone and while talking to you, they are also talking to someone else who is there present with them.

Can't you first handle the phone conversation and then continue your chitchat?

Re: Telephone manners

Sure. I still won't mind. I am positive about that. Btw Skype I meant, audio call.

Re: Telephone manners

OMG ya this too! Uff :smack:

And the whole…“aur…aur…aur”… :halo:

Re: Telephone manners

Well then, you are an amazing person. I have low tolerance for such crunchiness. :(

Re: Telephone manners

I just realize that Le in your nick is not foreign but Urdu word. You are threatening us in very offensive way :(

I hate it when for some reason the phone gets disconnected in the middle of a conversation and people dont bother calling back..esp when they r the one who called in the first place

Re: Telephone manners

And this is the second time that I hear this, and I still don't understand the offensive part :(

Re: Telephone manners

You are not a boy, are you?
