Telemarketers

Re: Telemarketers

i hate the desi ones, they are so clingy

and the dishnetwork one when i told them i was already a customer they were willing to lie and say i am a new customer to give me a better deal

Re: Telemarketers

i cant be bothered to give them d time of day,.....i hang up the minute i hear a telemarketers voice....i've dealt with a few now so can tell easily when its a call-centre call....

Re: Telemarketers

They also start asking for other ‘relatives’ and their contact info! Baaz nahee attey!

Re: Telemarketers

That happened to my aunt and uncle too!

We don’t have Dish Network, but just last week I got a call. I didn’t recognize the number, and the guy said salam. I’m sitting there trying to figure out which uncle could possibly be calling me, and it turns out it’s Dish Network.
Anyway, at least he was polite and didn’t pester me when I said I wasn’t interested.

Re: Telemarketers

I tell them that I am not interested in buying anything, and then they go but we are not selling anything, then I go I am not interested in saving money...and thats when most know to stop. If they still carry on then I normally ask them to email me the details, as I haven't got the time to talk.

Re: Telemarketers

If I’m farigh then I like to waste their time. I get them to tell me all about what they are selling, make them feel like they are on the verge of making a sale… then say “Thanks for all the information, but I’m not interested”.

If they spend 5 minutes talking to me, that’s 5 minutes they’re not making bonus commision from bugging people :aj:

Re: Telemarketers

YYEESSSS!! They are soooo annoying…
This one guy rizwan or faizy or whatever his name is, keeps calling our house asking for my dad…i have picked up the phone several times..and he says ok what time will he be home? i ask him to call the next day around noon..and again he calls in the evening..and asks for him…then he goes on asking me where i m from…are we pathans or punjabi’s  ? how old am i? ( i usually tell him i m 16 and not old enough to make decisions, and then he’s like ji ap awaz se kafi young lag rahi hein  ) do i have any brothers or sisters, do I study? Am I working?..and the list of wierd questions goes on…my problem is I can’t be rude specially when I know is Pakistani …
So, just recently, i had my older brother yell at him.:cb:

Re: Telemarketers

the ones that pissed me off were the guys who ask for you by first name and in urdu as if they are your bacchpan kay dost. sometimes it was ladies, begum passe donthe phoen saying hey its one of your college pals or something, turns out its some telemarketer.

Re: Telemarketers

I got a call once and i asked them what kind of topping they wanted on their pizza

Re: Telemarketers

and then u have the fraternal order of police and fireman's fund that call, those calls are interesting

Re: Telemarketers

How do you know it’s them…?

Re: Telemarketers

oh man, i hate those ones,

you cant even be mean to em.

Re: Telemarketers

 can i call you sometimes PCG and recite a few poems i wrote for you. Would that be ok?

Re: Telemarketers

hanging up the phone is a better option , ............................. also get yrself signed up at donotcall , i've done the same.

Re: Telemarketers

:rotfl:
Yea.. i also get these calls on my cell from a restricted number (probably from india) offering a winning prize of 5000 dollars :rotfl: … Sometimes a guy gautam calls, who also likes to call himself Tom, and sometimes its from a lady named mansi aka Grace who pronounced “sh” as “s”

Re: Telemarketers

I actually ask them to go on, tell me the details. I am normally watching TV and keep saying “ahan, wow!” etc. Once they finish in 5 minutes and ask to confirm my address so that they can sign me up, I say “Sorry, I am not interested” and hang up the phone.

Our land line is on “do not call” list, but desi idiots keep calling regardless.

Re: Telemarketers

Dish Network has been calling our house every single freaking day even though we are customers. It's so annoying.

Khurram called yesterday saying Asalam o alikum. I said wa alikum asalam and said we already have dish network and stop calling us. =)

Oh there is also those desi people who try selling their phone service with their low international rates.

Re: Telemarketers

that sounds more like harassment kino. maybe some desis at dishnetwork are abusing their calling priveleges just to be ... desis.

Call dishnetwork and report the situation. My family back home has dishnetwork, and they dont get those calls.

Re: Telemarketers

they arent working for dish like they claim they do, they're just indirect dealers outside of the US who get a comission everytime they get someone to buy it... and calling dish wont help, trust me. the best thing is to either hang up on them, or have fun with them.

Re: Telemarketers

omg..the other day I also got a call from this khurram guy and after me saying hello, he said “hello, assalam o alikum and then paused (and i started to think if this person is some relative or dad’s friend…so after a pause he said )I am so n so from dish network, do you have a moment madam, i mean if you really have little bit time, if you are busy I completly understand”. So i replied that i am kind of busy right now to which he kept saying sorry for bothering me and taking my time :halo: …
