In present circumtances it is better not to boost anything. Perhaps IK has understood that. That is why no agenda, no economic policies, no foreign polices no vision nothing. baaqi jo tsunami aor inqlab ka baja baja rahay hain, un ki aais band bajay gi ke dunya dekhaigi:)

I agree, he should have agenda like our current government to "Grab as much as possible in 5 years term".
Economic policy like current Government "How to borrow and spend maximum amount in 5 years term"
Forign Policy like current Government "Share secrets about intelligence agencies and military with the whole world"
Vision like current Government "No Airline, no electricity, no railways, no water, no sugar, no jobs, no business".
Imran Khan surely needs to learn a lot.
Incase you have been sleeping all these months, IK has discussed his policies and vision many times.
Of course they never said, because they want to keep the things as they are :)
And PTI is there for change, let us see -
Awais Laghari, the new entrant, if you dig about him, you may found out that he was minister or privatization when Steel Mills Scandal happened, guess what, the same Laghari was Telecom or IT minister when PTCL was privatized ( i think they buyer have not paid the amount yet or it was delayed for untold reasons but yes he is milking PTCL in terms of operating fee and ofcourse share in profit).
I am sure, this Laghari would be instrumental in changing the bank statement of IK
So you want me to write about others as well...
I must say, Kasuri, Laghari and many others, the cabinet of Mushy is back..

As far as PTCL is concerned that was a political decision on one side was Etisalat (UAE company), and its closest rival was China Mobile which offered $ 1.4 b. Etisalat offered $ 2.6 B, hence the company was given to them. However when Etisalat took over the control of PTCL they paid $ 1.4 b, and it was decided that the remaining amount will be paid through PTCL's profits (that thing was in itself debatable). Now the thing is that the company had been handed over to a 'friendly country' so who will force them to pay the remaining dues? More than Owais Leghari it was something decided on the top (Musharraf), and now even this government has not been able to get that amount back.

So the money is not back yet,
Chinese would have been better option, at least they would have paid???
Now what govt could have done is or the minister himself could have done is ask the friends to pay or deduct it from the profits itself... but all they did was nothing.. and or money is being delayed in the name of friendly country...
I am getting skeptical on this Friendly thing! they kill is saying it was friendly fire, they don't pay us money yet take away their share of the profits and in the name of friendly nations... i would rather be enemy and may loose less then this friendly thing have cost me!!!
China Mobile was offering about 1.1 billion dollars and at the most they were willing to go upto 1.4 billion. This was what Etisalat was paying upfront, the total bid was of Etisalat was for 2.6 billion. The difference was huge, but political will was required by the government to get all the money upfront.
but they were offering less, they were offering at the most 1.4 billion dollars, where as Etisalat had bid for 2.6 billion. The difference was huge, but political will was required by the government to get all the money upfront.
In the end they paid the same amount didn't they? and while we were suffering and begging and doing all sort of prostitutional stuff to get some money from donors and other, UAE/Etisalat was sitting on our USD 1.2 Billion... Only a friendly country can do that???
I agree with you the government should demand them to pay off, the 1.2 billion dollars that etisalat had to pay was through ptcl's profit as well which in itself is a strange clause. Pakistan during this time has gone through tremendous calamities while our friends are holding back about 48% of the bid amount.

Chinese deal seem to better why? because their bid amount was lesser no doubt but then they didn't had to pay us from the profit they make from us??? this is the reason the deal was called controversial at that time and still believed to be controversial.... USD 1.2 Billion back then ( i guess 5/6 years back) count interest/inflation on it
Apart from the PTCL sales which went awry (and btw this is because of our ummah friends UAE) Musharraf era saw an unprecedented boom in telecom and IT sectors. Multinationals invested heavily, jobs were opened, projects were created.. And some of the credit did go to Awais Laghari, then minister of IT.

Are you forgetting Steel Mills??? that was maybe because of our neighbor friend, Awais Laghari was such a masoom bacha that didn't knew what is going on around him...
Multinationals mainly invested in telecom sector and that is with the guarantee from govt of that time that no other licenses of the shall be issued to any local or international firm.... and now they are milking all the money from us, taking it back to their dear countries... giving us what??? some SMS packages and call packages here and there...
Did the loss of USD 1.2 Billion in single deal ( this can be easily be called one of the biggest scam, as with the corruption and whatever other means Zardari have opted so far, he only had some thing near USD 2 billions and these guys did USD 1.2 billion in one deal) compensate the benefits???
