Pakistan Tehrik-e-Istaqlal joins ranks with PTI*ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Istaqlal leader Air Marshall (Retd) Asghar Khan joined ranks with the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), Geo News reported.
Asghar Khan flanked by PTI chief Imran Khan announced this in a joint press conference here.
Talking to newsmen Asghar Khan said that he was stepping down as the Tehrik-e-Istaqlal chief handing the helm of its affairs over to Imran Khan.
Sittig next to him, Imran Khan vowed to take Tehrik-e-Istaqlal along in all respects.
He thanked Asghar Khan for reposing such trust in him.
Asghar Khan replying to a query said that Pakistan had not seen a single fair, transparent, and unrigged election since it came into being, which was highly unfortunate.
Endorsing Asghar Khan’s stance Imran Khan pledged to continue his struggle till the elections were rigging-free.
To a question he denied ISI was sponsoring his political venture.
“I will quit politics if ISI’s funding Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf is proved”, said Imran Khan.*
So you can say Asghar Khan about 91 year old joined 60 years old Ik.
There is no party named Tehrik e Istaqlal anywhere.
Much more about this gentleman . He was retired soon after 65 war and sent to PIA and than tourism deptt. During 1968 when he was ousted from gov't services he joined Bhutto's camp . Bhutto was imprisoned by Ayoub Khan. After release Bhutto didn't response much to this retired army man so he made another party and fought 1970 election where an unknown PPP leader Khurshid Hassan Mir defeated him with a big margin,

He made many paries and joined many alliances even with Benazir Bhutto in 1990 and fought against N$ but as usual defeated .
Every party and alliance where Mr Asghar Khan was in always defeated . Buri nishani hay .
I have recently visited Pakistan and the general consensus among educated people atleast is that we have tried the two big parties twice or thrice and they have been thoroughly disappointing, so it's only fair that IK be given a chance to govern. He may be inexperienced etc. but he could not be any worse than the current lot. People are just fed up with the status quo
My prediction is that you will see more and more influential people from various parties joining ranks of PTI nearer to the time of the election. Even Ghulam Mustafa Khar has shown an interest. I sincerely hope that PTI does not take corrupt people like him
I see PTI emerging as the second or third largest party in the National Assembly in the next election.
^^ BTW, do you support his Asghar Khan's petition in the Supreme court where he prayed that every politician who has taken money from ISI and those politicians should be banned forever?
Will PML-N support this petition and actively help him in that regard? :)
about the petition, if he is so sincere about his petition and if IK is supporting this petition then why not likes of Hamid Khan and Justice (R) wajihuddin moves it.. they are/were lawyers, they know how to move these things... so what is the hurdle...
Anyway, is Isghar Khan going to be a VICE-CHAIRMAN and have right to appoint 25% candidates or will head some kind of Parliamentary board kind of thing??? or he will be forgotten like Justice Wajihuddin?

Asghar Khan has even resigned from the chairmanship from his own party and ask IK to lead both (merged into one). So no, he will not be made VC, and he will not be fielding 25% candidates.

Excuse me, but Isghar Khan resigned from which party? how many members are there in his party he resigned from and how many elections and seats the party had contested and won? as you said, he resigned as a chairman of terhrek-e-Istaqlaal... and is that party a democratic party? if there is any other member in that party are they OK with the merger of these parties? or have they voted for the chairmanship of Imran Khan in that party???
yes don't like any of the politician who is gets money or any kind of support from Establishment and i want heads of those in ISI or ESTABLISHMENT who actually force, lure politicians to dance to their tunes...
