Well one can't really fault Imran here. He did what he promised the nation i.e. filed a case against Altaf Bhai. Whether despite having convincing evidence against Altaf, Scotland Yard feel unable to act against him because of pressure from the British Government (due to pressure from PAK government) we don't know and would never know. Well ZAB was highly educated and smart, noone can deny that fact but it has to be said that despite his immense talent he did precious little for the country apart from commencing Pakistan's nuclear programme. He could have done so much for the country. He showed jhootay sapnay of roti kapra aur makan to the poor and spoiled the lower classes by telling them that they had always been wronged by Pakistan's upper and middle classes. Ask anyone in Pakistan.....servants aur peons k dimagh bhutto jaani k aanay k baad se hee kharaab hone shurou huey. And forget the rest of Pakistan what have the Bhutto family despite their enormous wealth really done for their own constituency in Sind. Garhi Khuda Bakhsh and Larkana are still dumps. Heck there are not even proper roads there.....which is one of the main reasons why so many foreign dignitaries did not attend BB's funeral
Atleast Shahbaz Sharif has done a great deal for Lahore and I believe he is expanding his good work throughout Punjab. Ask any Lahori. Like him or not he IS a good administrator....but that's not to say he is clean or not corrupt.
As for some of the other things you mention in relation to ZAB, when you hold such an important public office or are a cabinet minister I believe people expect you to do something significant and to not sit your a*se down on the sofa all day long. Imran has not been in that position so we can't really judge him or know what he could deliver if such a huge responsibility was thrust upon him. It is a futile comparison
Remember NS was a minister in Zia's cabinet when he was barely 30 (so does that mean that he's a genius). Even Imran Khan was offered a cabinet post by Zia in 1987 when he was 34.

We were talking about ZAB & Imran. But anyway, we can't compare ZAB with Nawaz Sharif either. Roti, Kapra, Makaan was a slogan needed for a torn apart nation for GOD sake at that time Pakistan was broke. It was none other then bhutto who get back our 70000 strong soliders and save rest of Pakistan from India aggression !

Don’t get so happy, PPP, PML-Q-N-L-M..etc all provide funds to their candidates, its a normal culture in politics of Pakistan. In Mush-gov first election all the PML-Q leaders were given 100 million each and some of them get more for their Aukaat !

PTI to form peace committees in NWFP

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) on Sunday announced to form peace committees at union council level in the NWFP.
The proposed committees, to be named as Insaaf Markaz, will consist of people from all walks of life, PTI, NWFP, Finance Secretary Imran Shahzad told reporters at Peshawar Press Club.
He said PTI’s around 60,000 registered members would voluntarily work for the committees tasked with helping police restore law and order in respective union councils.
Shahzad said peace committees would be formed first in Peshawar and then other parts of the province.
He expressed concern about growing incidents of kidnapping for ransom, auto-theft and cellphone snatching in town.
He accused police of having connived with kidnappers and car lifters.
He warned police of protests if they failed to check lawlessness within three days.
The PTI, NWFP, Finance Secretary protested against party leader Fayyaz Khalil’s kidnapping bid on Warsak Road and the Manthra SHO’s refusal to register a case against unidentified kidnappers. He later led a protest rally of PTI workers against the kidnapping and the SHO’s rude behaviour. The protestors also shouted slogans against the ANP-PPPP government in the NWFP, saying the rulers have failed to solve their socio-economic problems.

Just thought I comment on the far sightedness of IK and the issues facing pak today.
This guy formed Insaf party for the independence of judicery in 1996 and people could not understand why?! Look at today, 12 years on and Judicery is the man topic in pakistani cirlces.
He boycotted elections in 2007 and people did not understand why!? Well he was right that elections like these are going to create more problems than resolve them!! Well look at the unrest now caused by the Civilian dictator as a result of 2007 election.!!
This guy seems to see the problems much before the other politicians for sure and no wonder is a popular choice with the media!!!
