There was a case just last week in Mexico. A 10year old pregnant girl was not informed of her right to an abortion upto17 weeks into the pregnancy. By the time she was told of her legal rights, it was too late. Her father raped her by the way.

Teen pregnancy may be less of an issue in Pakistan because the penalty could likely be death. Or at least being cast out of your family forever.

If you dont teach your children well, you may well be putting your child in danger. They do learn about sex, like it or not. If they learn about it in a responsible way rather than through playground talk, if you provide your children with a firm moral foundation then there is much less need to worry about teen pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases.

teenage pregnancies are such a huge strain on the British economy! I work in family law and the number of children from teenage mothers who are taken into foster care is just phenomenal. These girls tend to be SUCH bad mothers (especially if they have no support from their own family) and neglect their kids so badly. One of our client's left her child home alone to go out with her new boyfriend and then complained that she couldnt leave the kid with anyone else and had to get on in life!!!

I actually had a pakistani friend in high school who got pregnant in grade 11 and she had an abortion. She was actually thinking of keeping the baby but her parents took her out of school. Both her n her sister... and now I found out she is married to some guy in Karachi...

This seems to be a famous solution for these "girls who got pregnant without marriage" to get them married to someone in pak.....do the boys really know what these girls were up to before marriage??

i know of only one girl who was in my school in lhr and she "allegedly" got pregnant and had an abortion when she was 13 or 14. the way ppl found out is horrible actually.....the girl had a party at her house and invited the entire class. one girl was using her bathroom and found her diary and read it and then she told the other girls abt it and each and every girl went into the bathroom and read her diary. one of the girls told me like a year later when i joined the school and i was soo disgusted...the girl who told me was so surprised by my reaction. she actually told me so what its just gossip!!! yuck!! i was just shocked because teenage girls can be soo damn evil sometimes. its bad enough that u breached someone's privacy like that then u had to tell the whole of lahore....everyone in lahore knew that poor girl as a slut and what not.....i dont know how true the abortion story is but around 30 girls from my school had read the diary themselves.....she asked a friend for help and hid it from her parents and secretly got it done.

i heard abt another girl who got pregnant at 15 and asked her khala for help who told her u can abort the baby ureself by using a toothbrush!! poor girl got badly hurt and was taken to the hospital.......again i dont know how true it was!

Mostly, guys bully physically, but girls do a lot of damage to each other, emotionally and mentally. I realy don't understand the mentality of these girls either! I mean, if they were ever in that position, would they want everyone to know? Stupid brainless b**s. They ask for symapthy then turn on any person when they need it! Ughhh!!! And not even just in PK, it happerns here in the US too. *

Poor girl with the toothbrush! Where the hell do they come up with this stuff from????

parents wont allow but what about the kid ......he lives his own life ....he didnt need to ask his parents to do all this stuff....not pregnancy but sex before marriage...is now very common in desi society .........i know three girls who did this and they were on birth control pills ........and the wierd part is this the pills were provided to them by their respective mate ......so u see theres no point of getting even pregnant ....

I agree... That's y I don't really believe in the concept of arranged marriages. I mean I know they have been working out for centuries but think abt it... The person belongs to a good family and is educated but what is their own PERSONAL history? How do know how many people they've actually slept with? Specially these days where girls and guys from anywhere (not only the west but pakistan too) are no angels..

That's so messed up.. also in some societies (unfortunately, often Muslim ones) the victim is expected to or coerced into killing herself to save the precious family reputation.. I posted an article a while ago about a girl who was murdered by a brother or a male cousin after she was raped whilst the family member who raped her was forgiven. Also, u get some religious morons who just can't get their heads around the fact that there's a difference between consensual sex and rape and therefore feel the girl must be punished..

Agree with you here.......but how many people tell about their previous relationships especially before marriage and even after that ??

Don't you think its difficult to find this out even in love...unless you know the guy from his childhood/teenage??

Edhi Center (Major Pakistani private charity) officails tell that they find baby corpses everyday in Pakistan on garbage dumps despite the fact that they have a baby cradle outside their centers and the baby can be left there, no questions asked. And yes, babies are left in those cradles too.

I've seen quite few cases of gora girls getting pregnant, actually about 3 before marriage, teenage pregnancies. I also know of 2 paki girls having sex before marriage during high school. One of them started when she was about 15, she does it for money now. She's probably about 17-18 now. I don't know of any paki girl giving birth before marriage.

Yeah, I read about something like that somewhere, it's horrible how the women are blamed like that. It's disgusting, not only does she have to go through that pain she has to go through the hurt of being rejected and punished by her family.

It shouldn't be so freakin hard to get on the pill or injectable contraceptives. it should be availble over the counter!
And pregnancy out of wedlock is very common in pakistan and so is illegal abortion. ask any female doctor and she will tell you how many women have approached her for that purpose. just becuase its hidden and not talked about in the pakistani media doesn't mean its non existant.
