TCA Peels

I’ve ordered TCA Peel to use at home along with 10% glycolic cleanser and 10% glycolic toner which I will start using two weeks prior to doing the peel. Is there anything I should know or be carefull about?

Any other TCA Peel users out there? Please share your experiences, thanks.

Re: TCA Peels

I love TCA peels, actually I was going to suggest one to someone else on another thread.. Makes my skin look amazing, the only downside is having to stay in a week whilst my face is peeling and I look like a burns victim (I use a deep peel tho)..

Re: TCA Peels

^What strength is your peel and how bad does it sting?

Also how often do you do em?

Re: TCA Peels

i hav used them three times so far 15% strength, both single layer n 2-3 layers. honestly i didn't get much results. i didn't hav much problem to begin with. it still didn't help.plus i always started getting wrinkle on day 3-4 but won't peel till day 10th. for me too much down time. i'm having much better results with my 2% salicylic acid face wash. it is giving me gr8 exfoliation. i don't wanna go back to tca though i still hav much left may be 1-2 peels per yr for maintainance.

Re: TCA Peels

I started off with 20% at first but that was ages ago, now I do 50% (pls DON'T try this at home anyone if u don't have experience with TCA cos the likelihood is that u will end up getting badly burned and seriously damaging ur skin, there is a v.high risk of pigment damage and scarring and the damage can be irreversible). I know other ppl can find the stinging too much to handle even at lower concentrations than that but for me I don't find it too bad.. I've had glycolic peels and dermabrasion as well as laser but for me nothing made my skin as super soft as the TCA peel, I haven't done one for about 9 months now. I didn't use it for scars or anything like that, just to make my skin really smooth and soft. The only major downside for me as I mentioned was having to stay in after a deep peel, if I had gone out in public little kids would have screamed lol

Re: TCA Peels

Mabrook and Deeba, thanks for all that info.

Deeba,

1- How often are you doing em now?

2- How would I know it's time to move on to a higher strength (I am starting with 12.5%)?

There was something else I wanted to ask but forgot now.

Re: TCA Peels

TCA Peel sounds dangerous… :hmmm:

Re: TCA Peels

^Bolay tou???

Re: TCA Peels

Pata nahi sajal baji, I got a bit scared reading Deeba's post lol is this peel acidic? Is it strong? does it burn? :/

Re: TCA Peels

Aisha, pata nahi. Havn't got it yet.

Re: TCA Peels

LOL at pata nahi. Well do tell me how's it go for u

Re: TCA Peels

Sajalina i started with 15% n found it superficial. 12.5% might be too low. so if want better results after ur patch test if u find everything ok use 2 layers at first. if it frosts(gets white) don't get scared. it means its working. if it doesn't frost put another layer. don't neautralize as soon as it frosts. giv a few mins.

The higher concentrations do sting a hell of a lot.. sorry for the scary description lol I just don't want anyone to end up burning and disfiguring themselves.. a lower percentage of TCA should be ok but have to be super careful with a deeper peel..

Re: TCA Peels

LOL it is ok. Yeh that's very nice of you. Let's see when she get's her TCA Peel and her experience of it. What does TCA stand for though?

Haven’t done it for about 9 months now, will maybe do another one in the Summer, mine are v.deep peels tho so I wouldn’t bother with more than once a year or so.. When it peels off (kinda reminds me of a snake shedding its skin lol) the ‘new’ layer underneath is soft as a baby’s, I would seriously keep on doing this instead of anti-aging creams or injections when I get older my skin looks that good afterwards.. I switched to higher concentrations just when I wanted more of an effect and after I became used to using it. Like Mabrook said u can tell by the ‘frosting’ if it is working or not and with the higher percentages the frosting will last longer after it’s been washed off..

Here’s a ‘TCA Diary’ of a girl who had a peel done to get rid of her freckles + sun damage, not sure what percentage was used tho: TCA Chemical Peel Diary

Some info on a light 12.5% TCA peel: 12.5% tca peel - Skin Care Talk

It stands for TriChloroacetic Acid :)

Re: TCA Peels

Deeeba the TCA chemical peel diary link that u provided seems too good to be true. That makes me want to do it as well. Will TCA help in getting rid of the acne hyper pigmentation?

Re: TCA Peels

It honestly isn't too good to be true, like I said it's a brilliant way of making ur skin look amazing, u just have to be really careful not to use a percentage that's too strong cos if u mess it up the damage could well be permanent, and yes at the right strength it can get rid of marks and hyper pigmentation..

Re: TCA Peels

Thanks Deeba

Re: TCA Peels

I guess TCA peel is what i need only if the down time wasnt that long. Cant take so many days off work :(
