I dunno how i ended up at this thread:) but please don’t self administer peels unless you’ve had professionals do them to you and are familiar with the process. Google CA burns and you will get a gazillion results:

^The idiot in the second review used 50% TCA! Like most treatments, if u follow the instructions properly (inc always starting with a weak concentration so ur skin can get used to it and always do a patch test) u shouldn’t come across problems tho having said that there is always going to be the odd horror story here or there.. I’m not too sure what happened to the first person but I’ve read about girls getting badly burned just from dying their hair at home, does that mean all hair dyes are unsafe??

As long as u start with a low concentration of TCA and don’t leave it on too long u should be ok, also make sure u buy from someone reputable. With a 12% TCA peel u are hardly going to feel anything, this would be a good level to start at.. People need to use their common sense..

For a TCA peel you have to prepare your skin by using glycolic acid plus some other stuff two weeks prior to doing the actual peel and ALWAYS start with a low strength i.e. 12%. I would never do it any other way.

To excelerate generation of new skin cells, helps lighten scars, (perhaps with a stronger peel they can be removed) etc.

I doubt you can use it on your undereye area, the skin is too thin and delicate.

I prob should have phrased that better.. TCA peel is one type of chemical peel tho they all work in the same way, solution is applied to the skin then the top layers are sloughed or peeled off.. Glycolic, Lactic, TCA and phenol peels all come under the umbrella term of a ‘chemical peel’ tho obviously there are huge differences in how far they penetrate into the skin (Phenol peel is so strong it’s often administered under general anaesthesia and while the results can last 20yrs it can take ur skin months to heal from the procedure and it’s very painful, even a deep TCA peel will normally only need up to 2 weeks recovery time behind closed doors)

There is another thread that discussed the risks in more detail.I have also posted a link to a webmd info page on pre and post peel steps. Please look at those before you perform the peel.
