What I know is to use these mirchis to find out if you have a nazar or not and to take it off and for me it makes sense because after flaming up mirchis my mother used to recite some verses along whirling around the person head and if he has a nazar the mirchis don’t discharge any smell but if he has not then it smells. Kind a weird but makes sense.
