No reason to wear a taveez. having a taveez will nto do anything, pasting ayyats in frames in your house is not going to do anything. wearing a cross or having a crucifix is not goingt o do anything. Its not the words or images that have any power, they are just there as a show of reverence or as reminders. as far as power goes, its the creator that has the power. Faith in him, prayer to him for help are all you need. Rest is baseless.
Iam sure a lot of people will not agree with u Fraudz.
Hmm...I agree with Fraudz
I agree with Mr. Fraudia. In fact, I think, most people will agree with him on this issue
Taveez is haram. It's another stupid Pakistani Pir thing. If you wear a Taveez for good luck you are relying on something other then Allah to help you. This is stupidity and is is haram as Allah is all that can help you, not a little black thing to put round your neck.
How is it HARAM SHEIKH.
Thats very conflicting with something I read while back about the religiuos significance of taveez. As I understand it they are not haram but it depends on the type of taveez and its purpose. Or am I totally wrong here?
I disagree with Fraudia. Taveez cures. It has been scientifically proven that ‘anticipation to get better’ is as effective as taking medicine. When one feels that one is getting better, one generally does. Well, I stand corrected, it may not cure a broken leg (unless it is a big Taveez), but it sure cures tummy ache, constipation, minor headaches, etc.
One should wear Taveez along with taking medicine. Taveez alone may not be enough for many ailments. If you don’t get better, you can always blame it on the medicine.
It is a matter of faith.
Where there is good there is bad so if who ever makes a taveez 2 do bad 2 some1 then it is haram.

okay does teh surah protect you or does god protect you? do i believe that a 2 dollar plastic piece with some surah written on me is going to protect me? I might as well put it on an altar and start worshipping it then.

NY but the taveez in itself dunn do jack. I can convince you that tying a Gi Joe action figure around your neck is going to make you feel better, then hey that will help with mind over matter deal also. so thus a whole taveez thing is all lame (n i know I am killing my piri faqeeri industry here but oh well..)
People wear taveez for good luck, protection etc.
Allah is the only one who can do these things so how can one rely on a taveez to give good luck.
Belief in taveez is like belief in magic which is dangerous in Islam.
Taweez…bidaat. ![]()

well, when you are in Alam-e-Asbaab, you must follow the rules and regulations that ALLAH, the Almighty has created for this world...
Ofcourse, ALLAH is the Protector, Sustainer....
even it is taught to us that a Momin is one who do tawakkul on ALLAH after he ties the rope of his camel that the camel wont run away....
we are asked in Quran to prepare our weapons to fight when the time comes... ALLAH is more than enough for the help and victory.. and Besides HIM no one can help... very true....
but ALAM-e-Asbaab requires its rules to be followed....
"The way (sunnah) of ALLAH never changes" --Al-Quran
Mr fraudia and SHEIKH have these opinon that taveez do not work. Fare enough i respect your opnion. On what knowdlge do u 2 hold these thoughts ?
I don't think taweez should be used for any reason. Because:
1) Allah has told us many times in the Quran to ask directly from HIM whatever we need.
2) There's no evidance in Hadiths that Prophet Mohammed(SAW) practiced it.
3) When you wear a taweez you're seeking protection from someone else other than Allah. If you know how to read Quran, tell me why would you get a taweez? You probably think that won't help you, right? or is there another reason you shouldn't ask God yourself but go to these people to make a taweez for you?
4) We don't know what's written in the taweez. It could be anything; people will do anything to get your money these days.
5) Quranic text should be respected and not taken to washroom or any dirty places you can think of. I suppose once you wear taweez you never take it off so what do you do when you go to the washroom?
"Verily, my Wali (Protector, Supporter, and Helper, etc.) is Allah Who has revealed the Book (the Qur'an), and He protects (supports and helps) the righteous."[7:196]
"And those whom you call upon besides Him (Allah) cannot help you nor can they help themselves." [7:197]
"Or have they taken intercessors besides Allah? Say: what! even though they did not ever have control over anything, nor do they understand."[39:43]
"And when it is said to them, Follow what Allah has revealed, they say: Nay! we follow what we found our fathers upon. What! and though their fathers had no sense at all, nor did they follow the right way." [2:170]
We need to be sure of what we are referring to when we make judgements. The need to clarify our point is essential, since that eliminates a lot of misunderstandings.
As of now, we seem to have 2 clear parties here. One that believes that Allah SWT is the only one, and we dont need anything else...no taweez, no nothing...and the other, that also believes that Allah SWT is the only one, and we dont need anyone else. The only difference here seems to be in the way these 2 parties approach Allah SWT, who they both believe to be the sole sustainer.
Some raise their hands in dua...some pray without raising their hands...some do it with pits of dates.....some do it with tasbeeh.....some with taweez.
Sure there are people who go overboard, but we need to be sure of the bottom line before we make assumptions. For a person who wears a taweez, does he/she wear it believing that the actual piece of cloth will work miracles for them? or do they wear it with the 'same concept as ours', just that the method is different?
Just a thought.
