I have both read and heard several times that certain tasbeehs are “jalali” and should not be recited excessively or in isolation or they will bakfire on you…especially Ayat Kareema. Backfire in the sense that something harmful will happen to you.
I have not come across any hadith that mentions this and I see this as a superstition…it defies common sense to me. Ayat Kareema is in the Quran, which is for our benefit. I can’t imagine that Allah would want the Quran to harm us in any way. I’ve even heard tgat you need permission from the imam to even recite it x number of times and I see that as shirk in a way.
Can Ayat Kareema be recited individually and without a specific limit? I’d appreciate clarification about this…preferably with a reference like hadith…and not a “well I heard from my mom who heard it from my nani who heard it from a buzurg that falana banda went crazy doing tasbeeh” type reference.
I also would like to know the answer ,
Because I heard one molvi said in utho jago Pakistan that when u do ayate karima in too much quantity Alone then Mowakil atay hain..ache n buray Mowakil atay hain n Jo perhta hai usko nuqsan pohchate hain..
So my question is can I do wird of ayate karima like Sawa lakh,Alone, a few thousand times daily?
I have heard this about Jalali type tasbeeh etc but there are few Wazeefas, specific Ayatas,dhikar,Isam-e-Azams which you cn't read without permission , you need to take Ijaza from your Sheikh,Imam.Correct me LKK,pysah and Jinx?
There is hidden meaning and power in the holy word. syedna Ali kw said that in bismillah, the bai and dot..that he could write enough on this that it would fill the backs of 70 camels.
If you are reading something as a wadhifa then best to get permission.

Yes reading something as wazifa..
Per who to ask permission from?
Hazrat Younus AS was in trouble and directly did the wird.
I don't really know who should I take/ask permission.
^ you don't have to laugh out loud.I know there is a different.
But don't we fallow our beloved prophet SWW? Whatever HE SwW did when we do it's called sunat.so should we stop doing all sunat coz we are not like Him SWW???
That's why I think it's kinda nice to stick to the basics. Someone like me has a hard enough time doing her fardh...stuff that I'm really accountable for such as my 5 prayers, my rozey during Ramadan, my zakat...I'm really not interested in getting into wadhifas and all. I've seen that when I do my 5 times prayer with the sincerest of intentions, Allah ta'ala answers my prayers. I'm not saying all these tasbeehat are wrong, but like the OP pointed out, unless you're sure what you're doing is authentic, I'd be a little hesitant.
Apologies kinz I didn’t mean any disrespect.
Yes we follow the sunnah…but like you said some things are jalali. The Qur’an is esoteric. And there are multiple layer of understanding in them.
Sidi Psyah or the other learned ones could probably explain better.
Depending on what you want too read I’ll ask my muqaddam and let you know what he says..can you pm your hajat?
Yeah I STILL find the idea of asking a sheikh for permission to connect with Allah and to read an ayat from the QURAN is weird. It just does not make sense to me. Dhikr brings us closer to Allah and we are encouraged to do so. I've never heard of restrictions. In my head, it doesn't make sense. I'm of the simple view that you can recite freely. It would be interesting to hear the insights of Psyah and other more knowledgeable members.
Not permission…protection. for when the Shaykh gives you permission then he is spiritually connected to you. And as others have pointed out various entities manifest.
My nani relates that when she was a little girl she used to hear her father teach some jinn the Holy Qur’an. She recalls hearing voices but never went in the room. Until one day , she did..and saw nothing.
There are certain tasbeehat that are cited in several ahadeeth such as Tasbeeh Fatima, which many of us read daily. Then there are lesser known ones which are authentic as well but we may not know the exact purpose and methodology. I also feel that while dhikr cannot be bad, some tasbeehat are biddah...and for the common man to distinguish what is biddah and what is, is a bit complicated.
I'd like to believe so, but there's a ton of new stuff out there these days that people like you and me have come up with...like say this 1216 times without drinking water and taking 25 breaths only sitting on your right foot with the big toe pointing South. I'm talking about that kind of stuff. I don't think Allah would wants us poor souls to go through all this trouble.
I need to know about this as well...different people have different opinions but still if there is anything as a jalali tasbeeh then can I have detailed information about which ayah/surah/ names of Allah are jalali?
So if these words are 'esoteric' and have multiple meanings behind them, how on earth do the sheikhs know what the meanings behind these wazeefas/tasbihs are?
