How it stopped? Operation in Lyari, resignation of Zulfiqar Mirza, some torture cells were discovered during the operations, many people were arrested etc…

Please read post # 28, where in I have replied exactly the same questions to your friend khoji. Killings stopped well ahead of what you are quoting. Even a thread was opened that PPP was reluctant to operate in Lyari. Killings stopped instantly when news of three mqm killers were arrested in Imran Farooq murder case. Thereafter either Don was escaping to South Africa and later when stopped to leave the country, or he fell sick and hospitalized after hearing this. The news of his sickness came after one week.:)

Of course ZM resigned much later when Rahman Malik overpowered Zulfiqar via Zardari and started operation in Lyari. Imran Farooq's murder investigation and target killings in Karachi have no direct connection regardless of how much we despise MQM/Altaf Hussein. I don't know about his sickness or attempted flee, according to your own Anwer Pasha AH has been 'really sick' for long time and media has been kept away from this information.

As for Zulfiqar Mirza, i fully support his initiative regardless of his own character because his bad character doesn't change the fact that MQM are mostly responsible for the mess in Karachi.

Believe me there is a direct link. Soon after this news, suddenly Don became sick or tried to escape to South Africa, and there was sudden dead calm on target killings. At least for the moment. I hope it would keep that way for ever.

Definitely this is the truth. Zarari and Malkoo have that "chirhya" in a golden cage, which is jaan of jinn now hostpitalized in landan hospital. "Chirhya" in prison has made remote of target killings ineffective at least for the time being.

Zardari has played defensive politics since he become president. During defense, he left no opportunity to play offensive when ever he got a chance. This strategy has worked for him and perhaps he will complete his five years as presdent. As rightly great Javed Hashmi said earlier that to learn Zardari's politics you need a PhD degree.:)
