I think she means the tap water the Arabs drink.
re: Tap water
princess, it may vary by area and personal preference, municipal water supply has to meet certain criteria and actually publish their compliance with standards, although the age of pipes in buildings, composition and taste of water can impact whether people drink it or not. I actually do not, have hard water, and then with a water softener the taste is off, have to put a reverse osmosis for drinking water.
re: Tap water
yes, the tap water in Canada is safe to drink and so is the case in most western countries.
re: Tap water
When I lived in Toronto I used to drink tap water without any problems. When I moved to USA, for some reason I was worried about the tap water, so I have a water filter on the tap, even though my husband makes fun of me, because he says that water in the USA is fine.
Re: Tap water
If you have any concerns about tap water you can always boil it. It will be safe that way, either in the west or in Pakistan

***yes, but boil for 10 minutes and then cool it down before pouring into cleans [washed with boiling water] bottles for storage.
what most people forget is that rinsing mouth with untreated/unboiled water during teeth brushing or showers/baths is equally harmful. you might get the bug that way as i found out during my recent trip to India. i brushed my teeth ONLY once with tap water [untreated/unboiled] during my 14 hour stop at Bombay...Mumbai is notorious for it's 'killer water'...so, be careful!
one more thing....never drink sharbat/lassi or eat yogurt in the sub-continent as the milk/water contains unclean water. you must also wash veggies with clean water and then peel it before you eat it...the famous phrase is:
If you can't peel it, you can't eat it! :)***

Re: Tap water
Except in Singapore , Orange county , CA and many other cities of the world, they are mixing cleaned sewer water into water supply. It might be pure as abb a hayat but still dill nahi manta peenay ko.
Re: Tap water
the water where I live has a slight yellow-green tint to it. I don't drink it, but I use it in cooking.
Re: Tap water
Yum yum I love tap water. It's the only thing I drink.
