have they actually admitted they are killing shehnaz sheikh's character? or we are guessing from the promos?

shehnaz sheikh was such a pivotal character of 'tanhayan' that its impossible to replace her with anyone new, that would be a bigger disaster than killing her I think, it woud be horrible to replace mentally those original shehnaz sheikh moments in tanhayan with a new one as if wiping clean her old character! so glad they are not doing it.

its going to be a bitter sweet reunion anyways, because in real life a few of the very well loved character are no more like Jamshed Ansari (Bukhrat) Azra Sherwani (bari apa) Yasmeen Ismail (Veeda) and Subhani bayounus (baba), similar to the kind of family reunions we have in real life where we meet the new members with anticipation to make new memories and fondly reminisce about the ones not around anymore. I hope they spend some time fondly remembering these characters who are no more, nothing depressing but an ode to smile about. Can't wait to see it, I trust Marina Khan and Mohd. Ahmed totally, if anyone can pull it off they can! good luck to the team!

I just hope they do not mess it up. Tanhayan is one of my all time favourites (alongwith unkahi and dhoop kinare) and it would be hard to recreate that magic. But lets see.

I dont know about what they will do about Zara's character, but its my personal assumption that, Shahnaz Sheikh might not be able to give time so she may have signed for just one episode and maybe in last episode she will come!! Throughout the episode, I guess she will be the issue, her ego, her relation with zain and things like that... and eventually she will realise that she were wrong (according to the story of drama) and in the last episode she will join the cast. Thats what I think!! Lets see!

Aj kal ke zamany se odd scenes hain but if you compare it with the old Tanhaiyyan, isme uski khaasi jhalak hay....us waqt ka atmosphere aisa hi tha, and i think usi ko barqaraar rakhne ki koshish ki gayee hay!!

I completely agree

I finished the original Tanhaiyaan last week (:D) and I thought the naye silsilay were like an extension of it. Obviously, Buqrat, Apa and a couple of other characters made it memorable and you can't have that in this one.

It felt nostalgic watching first episode. But there is lot of room for improvement.

Waiting for Qabacha to steal the show again. I hope he and saniya can recreate THAT magic. That is legendary.

The background music gave me goosebumps. it brought the feeling of the original tanhaiyan back. Zara needs to come back, this show is khokla without her. And yup, looking forward to Kabacha's entry.
