Tall guy and Fair girl

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

It's 2014, let's move on and talk about more important things like compatibility and enjoying someone's company.

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

Its always relative. Fair means fairer than the person describing the allegedly fair person.

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

My husband is a few shades lighter than me…but I have heard desi people in general (Indian and Pakistani) covet and envy fair skin as if its gold.

I find skin color irrelevant…I like the sharpness of features, dimples, a man who’s well built, cute, funny, attractive, smart, etc…hmmm…I think I am going to make a nice dinner for him tonight.

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

How about preference for height? Is that irrelevant or not? Would you go for a shorter guy?

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

or striped.. :)

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

That comes with living with that person ( after the marriage, of course), if one is not too set in their ways.

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

How about tall girl and fair guy?

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

I think universally fair skin is considered attractive for women, though I think it’s different in America and Europe now, but most other parts of the world, light skin is considered attractive.

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

Most guys are taller than me...so it never occurred to me.

Height...well...not sure if I'd go for a guy shorter than me.

One of my friends is married to a guy shorter than her and she seems really happy. My chacha is shorter than his wife too...they seem to be doing well.

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

I read somewhere that part of the global ‘ideal’ of beauty is actually olive skin nowadays.. not very fair or dark..

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

wanting fair girls isnt purely cultural in the desi/eastern sense. Take Snow-White for example. why was her skin described as white as snow? Also, just yesterday i saw an article online where a British woman i believe she was, took a portrait of herself and sent it to photoshoppers around the world to make her 'beautiful'. The majority of them (both eastern and western) lightened her skin. Therefore, seems like wanting fair(ish) skin is universal.

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

^I have never seen american white people wanting to be white. They are always trying to get a tan, even guys. there is tanning beds in gyms here NY/NJ area. my husband side is italian american and they go tanning so much, and are even darker than me because of excessive tanning. white as snow being beautiful is an ancient concept here. Back in the day, white skin was considered 'high class' because people who had a tan were the ones working outside so it was more of a status thing.

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

^Agree..

Very pale skin was historically preferred but definitely not nowadays.. If that was look was so fashionable now we'd have more whitening/lightening/super high spf products being promoted in the West rather than tanning.. In fact wanting to stay very pale is seen as a bit of a niche thing over here.. I could name a dozen tanned well-known models/celebs but if I was asked to name very pale ones I'd struggle.. Dita Von Teese is the only that springs to mind..

Summerfruits, it doesn't look to me like the majority lightened that woman's skin.. Some look lighter but many look a similar colour and a couple look darker (such as the Indian one.. which is a bit strange imo)..

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

^Also, the few "skin whitening" products in the West (or least that I've seen here in Britain), are geared towards fading spots/birthmarks and are marketed as spot treatments rather than promising to make your entire complexion lighter. Most even state that they are not to be used on the entire face or on large areas of skin.

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

I like tall guys!!!

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

Does that make you any less evil than a white preferring guy?

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

This was a Victorian standard. They had the same class divisions we do now. Women who work in the fields were brown and rough while women who had the luxury to stay at home where blemish free and pale. As soon as education became universal, class division decreased that standard of beauty died out too. Now tanning means health and wealth. After all who else gets tanned but those who can afford holidays and can stay in the sun at their leisure.

And the poor girl in the photograph looks grey. You have to increase contrast to get rid of the grey.

Re: Tall guy and Fair girl

Very obvious multi--Frankly, I really don't care.
