Well, khoji is pretty much a lost cause when it comes to MQM. But then we have khoji squared or khoji cubed when it comes to jiyalaism in this forum so what can one say ? :)

Well, I am not 'a lost cause' when it comes to MQM. :)
Obviously you have not been reading my posts about MQM being involved in sectarian killings.
MQM is not what it was earlier. Even the MQM star, Mustafa Kamal, has disappeared in thin air. Obviously he was not satisfied for some reason.

Re: Talks with Taliban are government's top priority, says Chaudhry Nisar
MQM is in power for almost three decades. This is the first time in a very long time that they are not part of the government.
MQM has played an indirect role for strengthening taleban in Karachi. They started killing poor pashtun labourers in late 2007/2008 and then fought off ANP. The resultant vacuum was filled up by taleban. Now they can go cry foul.
Taliban and Pashtun are not synonymous. Taliban have strong support even among Urdu speaking people.
Overall MQM cannot be blamed at least for supporting Taliban in Karachi. MQM does not control police or other law enforcers. They are controlled by PPP provincial minister. So once again our PTI guy Jolie is off the mark.
Talibanization in Karachi is the result of influx of large number of displaced Taliban from FATA and KPK. MQM actually was the first to warn of that phenomenon but no one listened.
I despise current MQM policies. Will not vote for them. But that does not change the true facts.

If you are so concerned about Justice, then go open threads calling for drone attacks in Karachi, ask for full fledged tanks driven operation and aerial bombing of the City. No one is stopping you form doing that, no one is stopping MQM from doing that. If the Taliban are in Karachi then go ahead by all means, ask for FATA style operation and drone attacks. If the operations in Karachi are success, maybe it changes people’s opinion. Let’s see if likes of MQM can tell the rest of the Pakistan what the justice really looks like.
[/quote]
Well, I am not Altaf. So it is laughable when you talk MQM with me.
As far as your suggestion of drone strikes in Karachi and full fledged army operation against extremists then I say 'YES'.
If you ask for preference then I would go for drone strikes. Much less collateral damage.
Now what?

Warning was not enough. When that was happening MQM was sitting in the government (both provincial as well as federal). As far as I believe the indiscriminate killing of pashtuns created ideal conditions for the militants to take over, plus the effects of operations which MQM vehemently supported.
The result of operations was displacement. War on terror has displaced terrorists across the globe (almost all of the Middle East and North Africa is under some sort of influence now). Same thing can be observed in Pakistan too. Before 911 they were confined in parts of Afghanistan and maybe 1-2 tribal agencies. Want more operations by all means go ahead.

MQM was in government without powers of controlling police or rangers.
And while blaming Pashtun-killings on MQM is far-fetched and unproven, still it was ideal for ANP to flourish intead of Taliban.
Displacement of extremists in Karachi is the reason of Talibanization of the city. It is not due to war against them but due to government's negligence and collusion with them. Pakistanis and parties like PTI/PMLN still do not consider war against extremism their own war. If they had been serious about stopping these mufsideen then they would have gone after them even in Karachi.
As Jolie suggests, why is there no army operation in Karachi against them? Even today, the government is planning to stop ongoing operation against extremists citing lack of money.
Outrageous or what? People are dying in the city. And the government is leaving them in their jaws.
Re: Talks with Taliban are government's top priority, says Chaudhry Nisar
Other than May 2007, when were Pashtuns being indiscriminately being killed in Karachi? If it is true, then why are more Pashtuns still arriving in Karachi when businesses have fled Karachi due to bad conditions. I think that Punjabi settlers would think twice now due to BLA mayhem these days to go to balochistan.
Re: Talks with Taliban are government's top priority, says Chaudhry Nisar
Fight a war for a decade without any counter terrorism policy and then expect results?? #OnlyPakistan

Before that the situation was better.

Nothing I am just laughing.
You are not an MQM guy despite supporting and defending them Altaf day and night, lol! Perhaps instead of wasting all that time and energies spewing venom against PTI and wishing Imran death (really shows your class and what brand of extremist you are), you need to ask your representatives to bring peace and justice in Karachi through proper war.
Re: Talks with Taliban are government's top priority, says Chaudhry Nisar
But if talibanization is due to conflict, then ANP should have lost support right away after 2007 to Taliban. ANP can be anything like concede defeats in elections but I don't believe that they are ones to shy from picking up guns.
I think the bigger problem is that Pakistanis still romanticize the Taliban (a, b, c etc group your pick) with their infallible "jihad" against the infidels and all sorts of people for different reasons flock to that. I remember from one of my liberal arts courses about how the first followers of anything are the true devotees, but then you get coat tails that just join your group because it has become "successful" and they want to be with the "winners".
I mean look at people like Asrar Ahmed and his big following in deobandi community (even 1 in my extended family). Now, somehow youtube recommended me his video and this guy was sitting there romanticizing the Taliban and blaming the afghan war entirely on an Israeli conspiracy. You pretty much lose all hope for Pakistan after watching such people.

That's the thing, Ali, isn't it? Imran cannot even enter the Soviet City without presidential level security and somehow he's responsible for every crime, murder and robbery that takes place there. He's nothing more than just a punch bag for pathetic and failed parties and their hopeless supporters. I'm actually surprised, why wish that Imran gets killed by Taliban, just pray that he buys a house in Karachi and without a doubt his next stop will be heaven within 12 hours of arrival. That might make Khoji burst with joy and pride.
People of Pakistan voted for peace and bloodless end to this war, the armed forces (the people you ultimately expect to fight Taliban) support the current line strategy. everyone from Imran to Kiyani and Raheel Sharif has declared military operation the ultimate back up plan in case of negotiation, yet some people are obnoxiously thick to get their head around this basic fact.

Lets hope and pray that not only IK but others also will not be harmed by 'maut ke saudagar'. Differences should be political not criminal.
By the way who is baji Khoji?:)

Staff Report ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that Pakistan could not move forward without eliminating terrorism. Interacting with reporters during a visit to terror-hit RA Bazaar, Khan said that innocent people were being killed while government had no clear policy to tackle the menace. To a question, he said that he strongly condemns today’s attack on security check-post, in which 13 people, including six troops, were killed. “I have convened a party’s meeting to chalk out a strategy against terrorism,” he said. He was accompanied by senior PTI leader
