may be u were never close to ur mom. otherwise i don’t see anything really awkward abt it unless u go into minute details. parents are teachers too and just like ur teachers at school teach u abt thing same goes for parents. but in our culture parents avoid certain topics.

I agree with you in that parents are teachers too and that parents should teach them about things. I agree with you but most of the guys aruond about that age already know what is going on. Trust me. You don’t need to have a full fledge talk with them and just telling them that you are not well will probably do the job.

I agree with somegroovychick that it is a natural thing and happens to every woman and nothing wrong with it but it is just an awkward subject for most guys especially coming out of their mom and sisters.

As far as closeness to mom is concerned, I don’t think it has anything to do with that. I think I am in many ways close to my mom but it is just that certain things are best left out of discussion since we are old enough to understand.

Lastly, I am in no way trying to tell anyone on how to raise their kids or any such thing and I apologize if it came out that way. I just wanted to give my opinion as a guy and how I would feel if someone such as my mom would try to have this conversation with me.
