Lets discuss the demands that the Taliban make from the government.
The obvious ones would be:
1) Imposition of Shariah
2) Releasing their compatriots
I have read somewhere that they have prepared a list of 22 demands. So which of these demands can be accepted by the government?

Imposition of which Shariah? They should be reminded that the constitution is already based on the Shariah of Prophet Mohammed 
. But if they want their culture — dubbed as shariah — imposed on the country, they should run in elections, get elected and change anything they want with two-third majority. Simple!

There will be NO Operation in NWA. As far as their reach is concerned they have their tentacles through out the country now thanks to the parties ruling this country during the past 4 decades. We will have to face this cancer for the next many decades as there is no easy solution. The madrassahs will need to be regulated which no government can dare touch. None of the three demands that I mentioned can be implemented by the government.

Talibanic Shariah…which they implemented in Afghanistan previously and Swat in recent history.

Though I would like the talks to come to fruition, but I have a feeling that this tree is barren to the core. Everything depends on the Sharif in the uniform. As he is in the Kingdom, I hope he would properly convey his message to 'our brothers' that their henchmen in Pakistan are in for a cruel reprisal.

I would second that. Religious education should be given only through government institutions. Until madrasahs are closed, the jihadists will continue to have fodder for their activities.

I think its about time Mr PM and his team start working on what to do after the operation. Like controlling funding to madrashas. Following proper process in hiring of madrasha and masjid staff. Above all bring back death penalty.
