An Indian driver with the Border Roads Organisation has reportedly been kidnapped, along with three co-workers, by the Taliban from Afghanistan’s Nimroz province. The BRO is involved in construction of highways in Afghanistan
Maintaining that B R Kutty, a driver with BRO had gone missing since Saturday, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna said Afghan agencies are investigating the matter.
“We have seen reports that Taliban have abducted them. If the reports are true, we condem the incident and urge that all persons should be released,” he said.
A report from Kandahar, quoting the Nimroz provincial governor Ghulam Dasthaqir, had said that suspected Taliban rebels had kidnapped an Indian and three Afghans working on a road construction project between the Southern city of Kandahar and Herat in the West.
The four were kidnapped after being ambushed as they drove in Nimroz late Saturday night, he said. Later a purported spokesman for Taliban, Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, rang an international news agency to confirm that the Taliban had kidnapped the four men.

Five days after his abduction by Taliban, the body of Indian driver Maniappan Raman Kutty was found with his throat slashed in southern Afghanistan on Wednesday, evoking strong condemnation by India, which described the killing as “outrageous” and “barbaric”.
The slaughtered body of 36-year-old Kutty, a driver with Border Roads Organisation (BRO), was found dumped by the roadside in Delaram district of Nimroze Province, Governor of Khashroad Mohd Hashim Noorzai, was quoted as saying by international news agencies in Kandahar.
“He has been slaughtered. His throat has been cut,” he said. Taliban on Tuesday evening called up news agencies in Kandahar to say that Kutty, who was abducted on Saturday, had been killed by them, as the BRO did not comply with its demand to pull out of Afghanistan.

so many bad people out there......by killing him (indian driver) they (taliban) are only sending to the outter world the message that their place is more full of bad people thus justyfying US war ....it is so crazy...the reaction will be the opposite of what peacefull people want: peace and wealth.......instead they'll get even more war and poverty.......
