yes we are poles apart on this issue but i feel that u honestly come here to learn & teach , and u dont mind sharing views which may or maynot contradict the beliefs /practices of ur sect/madhab/fiqah.....thats why i respect ur views

the real question is whether you can apply islamic penal codes in a society such as pakistan. you need a lot of prerequisites in order to carry out islamic punishments. if one was to go into all the details, it would end up being a very long post.

the bottomline is that the purpose of islamic punishments is to rid the society of vices not to bring them out into the public. islamic standard of evidence in order to carry out islamic punishments is so high that it is a rarity to carry out such punishments instead of an everyday occurance.
