these stories show compassion in Prophet's nature but that does not change the fact that he also inflicted rigorious punishment when it was appropriate.
Islamic punishments as mentioned earlier are not based on "one size fits all" theory ....
but what i find inexplicable that some muslims willing to calling hadd punishments as barbaric despite the fact that they are clearly allowed in certain circumstances
