Taliban do not take their ideology from centuries old doctrines, they represent a new trend where Mullahs consider themselves to be the most suitable people to be the rulers. If at all they resemble anyone in present time, they represent Khomeini's ideology, of Mullahs being the rightful rulers and verdict of Mullahs being binding on the people aka wilayat-e-Faqih
