Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

Evil meets evil. Expect more bloodshed in Khi.

Taliban decide to

LADDAH: The outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan has decided to deal’ with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and rid the people of Karachi of its suppression’.

TTP spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan called reporters and read out a statement on Friday, saying the Taliban had decided to rid the people of Karachi of the suppression of MQM. “We would show no leniency to the MQM who have repressed the people of Karachi”.

He said the Taliban had started consultations to work out a strategy for the coming general election. “Taliban would announce the policy after the official announcement of the general election,” he said, adding that contesting political parties would be divided into three categories.

“Taliban urge all the nationalist parties in Sindh and Balochistan, including the Sindh Liberation Army and the Baloch Liberation Army, to continue their struggle against the unjust system according to the teachings of Islam and we would support their struggle,” he said.

The TTP spokesman said the chief justice and the judges of superior judiciary were part of a secular system. The judges, he said, should work for the enforcement of Shariah in the country, adding that revolt against the secular system was justified.Meanwhile, talking to Dawn, the TTP leader accepted responsibility for the attack on Fazal Ghani, a member of the peace committee in Sair Thelegram area of Swat.

He said the attack had proved that the TTP had presence in Swat despite deployment of security forces in the valley and would target those who were opposing or degrading the Taliban.

MQM UNFAZED

In response to the Taliban’s threat, the MQM leadership reiterated that “it wants an educated and Quaid-i-Azam’s Pakistan where everyone enjoys the right to live all in freedom”.

Faisal Ali Subzwari, the MQM’s deputy parliamentary leader in the Sindh Assembly, said the MQM had come to know about the TTP’s threat only through the media and had nothing much to comment on it.

“It should be up to the authorities and the security administration to see if there is any substance in that threat,” said Mr Subzwari, who is also Sindh minister for youth affairs.

“As far as the MQM is concerned, we are very much clear about our policy. We want a Pakistan that Quaid-i-Azam had struggled for and where everyone is free to live with his or her beliefs. History is witness to our struggle for the same cause and we would keep it on without any fear.”

Lol. Sounds like a desi version of Jason vs Freddy Kruger.

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

TTP want to establish its own monopoly to suppress people of karachi?

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

This threat of dealing an ideological difference with violence shown once aagin that Taliban are incapable of doing negotiations and reasoning. Their only response to any criticism is in the form of violence.

This specific threat shows once again that MQM is the only party which is most clearly against extremism in the country. When Swat deal was being signed with Sufi Muhammad, MQM was the only party at that time as well, which opposed this deal. Everyone else had their faith in "negotiations" with extremists then.

MQM's stance against Taliban is in contrast to stance of other political parties, especially PMLN and PTI.
Shahbaz once had to "clarify" his stance to Taliban by saying that Taliban should not attack his government, as PMLN's aim and Taliban's aim were actually working for the same goal.
And Imran Khan recently was avoiding to clearly condemn Taliban for attack on Malala, arguing that he has to consider safety of his supporters in FATA. Height of hypocrisy.

No matter how much people dislike MQM, I would expect them to support MQM in its stance against people destroying Pakistan's ideology.

But it looks like MQM is not going to get any support from others if Taliban start suicide attacks in Karachi. Obviously they wont make distinction between MQM workers and common folks.
They will justify killings of common Karachiites by saying that majority of them support MQM and so they deserve death.

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

What they do to fight with MQM? Sucide bombs on gathering in bazars to kill innocent peoples. Cowards. Karachi before that Gidad bhabki already involved in a fight with them with there sub groups linked with BLA/JI etc. They just make it now official and open announce.

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

Altaf Bhai can now apply for scotland yard protection as there are taliban type ideologues in britain as well.

I would say it is more like freddy vs. jason. MQM being the jason that whips people (symbolic with the hockey stick of Jason) and taliban, well they would be claw hand freddy as they do behead people (one up over MQM).

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

Buddy, I wonder if you would be laughing if Taliban start suicide attacks in Karachi markets.

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

I would take the MQM over those bearded dogs any day... Karachi isnt some god forsaken cave in Waziristan, its the MQMs stomping grounds. The Tali's would get their arse handed to them.

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

It depends upon the demographic situation of karachi. Of course, ultimately everything is dependent upon the govt but I really don't have any hope from that a** clown Rehman Malik, who is better suited for the 4 Man Show.

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

It's not funnyヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

I think you are exaggerating here, most of the posters here are against the killings in Karachi, we condemn the killings from all relevant quarters (not selective condemnation).

Anyways, when suicide bombs were being carried out in Punjab, what support did they have from anyone? Can any one resist those idiots? It is the failure of our interior ministry and intelligence that the security forces cant stop them from carrying out their subversive activities.

We have been warning that these elections will be the bloodiest and most anarchic in Pakistan’s history, much more bloodier than the 1971 when elections led to a civil war. Kharji TTP is now joining forces with the BLA and Sindh liberation armies to make a combined joint war against Pakistan for the coming elections. In the name of attacking MQM, they will create havoc in Karachi as part of the urban war. This is exactly what happned in East Pakistan when Mukti Bahini exploited the elections to declare rebellion and while Pak army fought the internal rebellion, Indian atatcked from all sides. The 4thGW, Af-Pak and Cold start are now joining hands. The final battle has begun. TTP has sounded the war drums along with other “Mukti Bahini” of the time! Elections would mean bloodshed, war and death.

Pak army, are you reading this???

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

MQM has so far kept Talli bans from karachi to a huge extent.

If tallis mess with MQM then soon we will start seeing mulla umer and others bori band lash by the corangi and clifton. ;)

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

I agree, but terrorism and killings by MQM aren't any diff than Taliban.

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

The Taliban and MQM are the products of our intermediate pass intellectuals and Taliban never attacked MQM in the history . The Taliban also never attack on other products of the same people Like PML N & Q , PTI etc .
This is election year and MQM is not in position to claim their usual drama of 'Mazloomiat' so this looks a 'Farmaishi program' . They are skilled so they have made some plan to get more favor from people of Karachi by keeping them safe from Taliban .
There are many tactics to get votes and favor . Others ore using other tactics .

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

And mien wari janwa apne IK pe bohat bhola bhala sa insan hai trying to negotiate with them. OMD stop the drones and Taliban happily surender and accept all govt writ. And few who still font than our army fight them what a beautiful dream. I mentioned a lot of times in my posts to finish them CUT there routes and sources which are among us. Im agree what Zaid said its not threatening MQM it's night mare of every wise Pakistani. We need to unite for this monster.

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

We may agree or disagree with Imran Khan when he claims that the taleban use the drone attacks to woo people towards themselves, but the same thing is mentioned in this report which claims that the taleban are reaching out to families of people who have been target killed in Karachi.

Taliban in city gaining strength in numbers - thenews.com.pk

**A disclosure that will give the shudders to the citizens of Karachi has come to the fore that the Taliban are not only holding sway in various parts of the city, but are also shrewdly boosting their numbers by wooing the families of target killing victims.
**
**Cunningly, the activists of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan are approaching the lower strata of society for their recruitment campaign – mostly families of murdered labourers – and inciting them to seek revenge, intelligence sources have revealed.
**
**Besides, the TTP is also indulged in relief activities in the areas where they have established themselves, paying cash to the needy or fulfilling their other requirements.
**
Areas under their grip

**According to a survey, the areas where the Taliban have firmed their grip include Sohrab Goth, Quaidabad, Shireen Jinnah Colony, New Karachi Industrial Area, Sultanabad, Manghopir, Baldia Town (particularly Saeedabad), Surjani Town, Qasba Colony, Peerabad, Shah Latif Town and Shah Faisal Colony.
**
**“The TTP is present in almost all areas on the outskirts of the city and has hoisted its flags there,” the sources disclosed.
**
**“After a comprehensive operation against the banned outfit in Swat and Waziristan, its leaders and activists fled to Karachi and settled on its outskirts. Most of the areas where the Taliban are now present were earlier strongholds of the Awami National Party.”
**
**They added that to penetrate into these areas, the Taliban first targeted the ANP’s offices and also sent threatening letters to the party’s leadership in Karachi.
**
“The TTP took over the ANP’s offices in some of these areas, removing the party’s flags and hoisting its own. After a few months, they chalked out a strategy to kill ANP leaders and activists.” However, the ANP denies these reports.

The TTP is extorting members of the Waziri and Mehsud tribes living in these areas.

Their objectives

**The Taliban have resurfaced in the city with new objectives this time, a primary one among them is to kill law enforcement agencies’ personnel and members of other religious sects.
**
**They are also generating funds for their organisation by robbing banks and extorting traders.
**
**“In collaboration with another banned outfit, the Lashker-e-Jhangvi, the Taliban are targeting policemen and members of the Shia and Bohri communities,” the sources said.
**
“The TTP recruits people from Karachi and robs banks and foreign exchange companies to generate funds for terrorist activities. These tasks are assigned to them by the central ring leaders in Waziristan.”

The first time the law enforcement agencies discovered the TTP’s presence in Karachi was in 2005. The discovery had confirmed suspicions that the banned outfit was regrouping in the country’s major cities and planning to carry out attacks there.

Extorting traders

**A senior police officer on the condition of anonymity told The News that the banned outfit was inflicting heavy losses on the country’s economy by harassing the city’s business community.
**
**“The TTP and LJ were earlier kidnapping traders for ransom. But now they have changed their tactics and find extorting traders a much hassle-free option. They have also started extorting multinational companies and food chains.” The Crime Investigation Department had recently arrested several TTP activists who were extorting traders.
**
Their targets

The police officer said the TTP and the LJ Ataur Rehman Group had also started killing members of other sects, mostly those belonging to the Shia and Bohri communities. Later, he added, policemen and the personnel of other law enforcement agencies also became their target when crackdowns were launched against them. “They want to create an atmosphere of fear and panic in the city.”

The officer said ANP leaders and activists were also on the Taliban’s hit-list, as the banned outfit was taking over the areas dominated by the party.

The TTP had recently killed three ANP activists in Sherpao Colony, Quaidabad.

On August 28 this year, 36-year-old Amanullah, the ANP’s ward president in the MPR Colony, was shot dead in Orangi Town. Earlier on August 13, the party’s Sindh Central Working Committee member, 55-year-old Amir Sardar, was murdered near his house along with two other activists in Frontier Colony. Sardar, who was associated with the ANP for over 30 years, hailed from the Thana area of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Malakand district.

However, the sources said not all murders of ANP activists could be attributed to the TTP.

Operation planned

At a meeting held in the city recently, President Asif Ali Zardari had expressed his concern over the deteriorating law and order situation and terrorist activities in the metropolis and ordered the law enforcement agencies to tackle the issue by taking concrete measures.

The sources said the present Sindh Rangers director general, who with his earlier success in Waziristan particularly against the TTP, was chosen for this task. They added that in the coming days, the Sindh Rangers, in collaboration with police, would start a comprehensive operation against the TTP and the LJ.

Killing of cops

More than 100 policemen have been murdered in the city this year. Investigators told The News that though the TTP was involved in a few of them, the banned outfit still posed a major threat to the law enforcers.

According to the figures compiled by the Sindh police department till October 20, 96 policemen were killed in the city including SPs, DSPs, inspectors, sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, head constables and constables. Twenty policemen including an SP were murdered in District East, 11 in District Malir, 21 in District South, 31 in District West and 13 in District Central.

The sources said usually there were about two or three constables patrolling in a police van. “They have no knowledge about the areas where the Taliban are present and are vulnerable to being ambushed.”

SSP Khurram Waris told The News that the rise in the attacks on policemen could be attributed to the increase in the action against banned outfits.

“The criminals target the policemen to scare them into backing out of their duties, but the law enforcers will continuously work to root them out.”

The SSP said police were the only hurdle for the TTP in areas where it was present including Gulshan-e-Maymar, FB Industrial Area, Peerabad, Manghopir, Sultanabad and Baldia Town. “That is why the militant outfit is targeting police vans and check-posts. The police must remain alert at all times and perform their duties with responsibility. Policemen need to take preemptive measures when travelling alone.”

The police official noted that his force’s biggest achievement was the killing of a TTP commander, Umer Khattab, in Manghopir. Khattab was wanted in many target killing cases, mostly those of police officials.

To a query, the SSP admitted that there were some black sheep in his department in the past that tipped off criminals about raids. “However, there are no longer such cases. However, we are still reviewing the past records of policemen.”

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

Karachi is a city of mafias, another one out to take a piece.

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

I cant believe this .. poor Karachi , already being run by Mafia gangs of MQM and now they will also have to deal with another Mafia called Taliban ..

Is there any justice in Pakistan? any security to the oridinary citizens who dont want to get involved in all this crap of MQM and Taliban..
are Taliban trying to take over the Pakistan Government? :hmmm:

Re: Taliban decide to ‘deal with’ MQM’s ‘suppression’

I'm sorry but that's not the reality on the ground. MQM thrives on harassing the civilians. We saw how MQM started crying over extortion when other parties also laid a claim on the loot. MQM can only kill small time 'karkun' (of others and its own), bus drivers, corn sellers, small traders, etc. They couldn't deal with Lyari gangs. Taking on taliban won't be wise. Taliban wouldn't want to be involved in a conflict either. They are getting significant funding for their operations from Karachi. Wouldn't want to disturb that.

All this mess, thousands dead in Karachi over past few years and the government awards interior minister a PhD degree for peace. Lanat hai.
