according to who? scholar slickstar? btw, you've been avoiding my question: are you a Muslim or do you claim to be a Muslim? If you wanna attack Islam, then attack the teachings of Islam and not how Muslims practice it.

More evidence that the Taliban are no more Muslim than serial killers.
The punishment for a couple "eloping" is not death. Furthermore, eloping does not necessarily mean having sexual intercourse out of wedlock. And even furthermore, why aren't the parents of the couple punished for having stopped a wedding in the first place? Just because Islam says you should get the blessings of your parents, does not mean that parents have the right to block marriages for silly reasons as its often done in Pakistan. And since when is shooting people publicly in the back of the head an Islamic thing to do, anyway? They can't find any other more humane method of execution?
More evidence that village pagalpan is being propagated and sold to Pakistanis as "Islam" - sad state of affairs that so many people still want to call these guys "muslim" instead of identifying them as misleaders and murderers which is what they truly are.

just a question, not taking anyones side, just want to know. Aren't the true talibans just pure muslims? And those ppl that for example beated the 17 yr old girl, just call themselves talibans to ruin the *true *taliban's name? Sometimes i think that maybe some ppl have learned wrong stuff and might actually be innocent but just following the wrong ppl, thinking they''re doing right while they arent.

This is so sad and tragic...was there proof of their so called 'love affair' or was it just based on gossip/hearsay.... (as in the case of the teenage girl beaten recently..)?
I agree with 'punjabi in usa'....this definately doesnt justify taking their young lives in this way...(in the name of so called religious beliefs).
Just feel so so grateful to be living in a relatively peaceful country, where we have freedom to be ourselves (and also freedom to follow a peaceful and caring religion, if we wish).....

tell me where does it says in the sharee'ah that if someone murders another person, then he/she is not a Muslim anymore? Mind you, I'm not defending Talibans' act.

Yes ... did you not know that the correct Islamic adab is to deny negative news about Muslims until we have evidence. We must give them the benefit of the doubt. If we can give criminals the benefit of the doubt then why not Muslims?
We are told to make excuses for our brothers.
I do not hold any group wholly responsible for a crime that is committed by individuals of that group. And even then we must get to the truth before formulating opinion.

these are on the record statements by government officials. with names, locations, and times. it is one thing to ask whether or not the government officials could be mistaken (with no basis). it is another to say that the news itself is inauthentic, which seems to suggest that the names are made up, the officials said no such thing etc etc.
also you say you should defend a Muslim brother. well why are you accusing a Muslim brother of lying, with absolutely no basis?

Absolutely serious ... no one is called a criminal prior to this being established through a fair trial. It otherwise becomes an injustice to those people who could be innocent. What appears to be so to you and me can be quite the contrary on closer inspection.
For this I can only assume you to be an honest and law abiding person, you would not like it if I made the assumption that you were a criminal, simply because you may belong to a group that I do not like due to second and third hand opinions about them.

The atrocities of some political parties as well as pakistani people in general supersede anything the "taliban" have done to date. Does that mean all Pakistanis are criminals?
We need to take out the subjectivity in our posts, and be more objective in our approach. People have personal agendas, as well as political and religious agendas which hinder their judgments. This is not right.
