Then you don't know how to read, because no one is attacking Quranic law, rather we are attacking perversion and manipulation of it, and if you are suggesting that to attack such a thing is wrong and unIslamic, then you are actually violating the Quran yourself.

these are on the record statements by government officials. with names, locations, and times. it is one thing to ask whether or not the government officials could be mistaken (with no basis). it is another to say that the news itself is inauthentic, which seems to suggest that the names are made up, the officials said no such thing etc etc.
also you say you should defend a Muslim brother. well why are you accusing a Muslim brother of lying, with absolutely no basis?

I agree with you. This is all a conspiracy. Taliban are very good people who do only charity. They follow the Islam in letter and spirit. They dont flog people, they dont kill people.
Wonder why we dont have more Taliban everywhere...

It was mentioend earlier that the western media have twisted things to such a degree, that these news items re. taliban are all fabricated lies......well, I doubt this very much....!! Real footage of floggings, shootings etc cant be faked. And why would the weatern media want to misguide so much anyway? they show footage constantly of crimes happening in the UK, US etc, so its not a case of 'trying to show the taliban in a bad light'...
And these people who commit these acts feel so confident that they can get away with everything, because they often take place in smaller villages etc, away from the prying eyes of the media watching them.
One day, they will have to face their own judgement in the eyes of God...

You got it correct, ever heard about FM radio's all over NWFP? If you have high power radio you can listen them easily in Islamabad, and secondly these taliban's were created by joint sperm from CIA & ISI.
Their version of Islam was written in the military head quarters & 5 star hotels.. and the writers were holding champagne glasses in the hands !
Taliban's were created & developed for a purpose and that was destroy the Soviets then wage a jihad against infidels. But unfortunately their own creators had no idea in the wild ...that Taliban's will become piece of **** and start creating trouble against them.

Even threads in Life1 switch gears and people start bringing Islamic perspective, but that does not make the thread qualify for Religion Forum. Your previous comment has humor in it, does that mean that the thread should be moved to the Joke forum?
I am just suggesting that we should be very careful about what could be discussed in Religion forum.

Today's times have brought the real warzone here ... on forums like this. It is a war of public opinions.
The vehicle to bring this war into effect is the media engine.
We are subject to plans made by people who set up organisations and back them in the media, then when the same people (allegedly) turn on their heels we see them become the enemy.
One thing is for sure, they were once allies of the west and now they are not.
1) Who 'they' are - we can't be sure
2) Are they the same before as they are now? - we can't be sure
3) Is there any truth in the latest stories? - there must be some
4) Are they using isolated cases to paint an ugly picture over a complex situation - highly likely
5) Is it completely fabricated? - We can't pass it by them (it is an opinion war you know)
6) So what can we do? - Only give 95% trust to first hand info, 75% trust to second hand info and 45% trust to third hand info and 100% trust to Allah (SWT) because the enemies of Allah (SWT) may plot and plan but Allah (SWT) is the Best of Planners.

More evidence that the Taliban are no more Muslim than serial killers.
The punishment for a couple "eloping" is not death. Furthermore, eloping does not necessarily mean having sexual intercourse out of wedlock. And even furthermore, why aren't the parents of the couple punished for having stopped a wedding in the first place? Just because Islam says you should get the blessings of your parents, does not mean that parents have the right to block marriages for silly reasons as its often done in Pakistan. And since when is shooting people publicly in the back of the head an Islamic thing to do, anyway? They can't find any other more humane method of execution?
More evidence that village pagalpan is being propagated and sold to Pakistanis as "Islam" - sad state of affairs that so many people still want to call these guys "muslim" instead of identifying them as misleaders and murderers which is what they truly are.
Am pretty sure there is no punishment whatsoever for 2 people going off to get married, wouldn't that be a good thing as they're trying to make their 'relationship' (I use the word loosely cos no-one knows if they had had any physical or just an emotional affair, in any case there must be 4 witnesses to prove zina) halal. Also, Hanafis don't require the girl to get guardian's permission to marry so can't see what the problem was, well except backward tribal culture masquerading as Islam..
