Husband wants to take little one Pakistan however GP has refused vaccinations as little one is too young for vaccinations.I have tried talking to husband about waiting for vaccinations as our child is on a soya milk based diet however he is simply ignoring me as his family in Pakistan ate pressuring him to take little one to Pakistan and well basically show off.I am not comfortable with the situation. Would other parents risk their childs health? My in laws love in an area that can only be described as a slum.
Re: taking 15 month old Pakistan without vaccinations
you can get her vaccinated from Pakistan too. I can understand your concern as a mother. If it's Karachi then I can PM you details for vaccination.
Re: taking 15 month old Pakistan without vaccinations
do NOT let him take the child to Pakistan without vaccinations. how long he wants to take the child for? actually, it doesn't matter. he better be careful and stay home ort go alone. it's wiser to wait until the child is vaccinated.
Re: taking 15 month old Pakistan without vaccinations
Just curious. Why is your GP refusing vaccinations? Id gather at 15 months, a child would be vAccinated against most major diseases. Our son is the same age, and hes been vaccinated at regular intervals since birth for a variety of diseases. Am i missing something?
Re: taking 15 month old Pakistan without vaccinations

I am also thinking this. At 15 months a child should be vaccinated.

I am wondering that too.
Re: taking 15 month old Pakistan without vaccinations
I would try another GP. And I would never travel without vaccination, unless it was a major emergency and I had no other choice, and even then I would get some tablets, and I'm an adult. So your concern for your child is very valid indeed. I wouldn't risk taking the child without a vaccination, unless you got a second or third opinion from other GP's.
Re: taking 15 month old Pakistan without vaccinations
My daughter has been vaccinated for various things since birth, going for regular visits every 2-3 months. She is now 18 months and almost done with these initial vaccinations. We are in the US.
Re: taking 15 month old Pakistan without vaccinations
I wonder if the OP is talking about vaccinations for diseases other than the regular vaccines all babies and toddlers get… Though i dont know what is left out cuz vaccination cards for kids cover pretty much the common diseases…![]()
Re: taking 15 month old Pakistan without vaccinations
i think she is talking about non routine vaccinations. **traveler's vaccinations**** i mean. **
Re: taking 15 month old Pakistan without vaccinations
Hm if that's the case, our pediatrician said my daughter does not need any additional vaccines (just the flu shot) when we go to Pakistan; she'll be two inshAllah.

i think depends where you are going. if you do NOT go to any rural areas, you may be ok.
Re: taking 15 month old Pakistan without vaccinations
here is the vaccination guideline for the UK (although some things may have slightly changed now)
everyone in the UK for free on the NHS, and the age at which you should ideally have them.
2 months:
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib, a bacterial infection that can cause severe pneumonia or meningitis in young children) given as a 5-in-1 single jab known as DTaP/IPV/Hib
- Pneumococcal infection
3 months:
- 5-in-1, second dose (DTaP/IPV/Hib)
- Meningitis C
4 months:
- 5-in-1, third dose (DTaP/IPV/Hib)
- Pneumococcal infection, second dose
- Meningitis C, second dose
Between 12 and 13 months:
- Meningitis C, third dose
- Hib, fourth dose (Hib/MenC given as a single jab)
- MMR (measles, mumps and rubella), given as a single jab
- Pneumococcal infection, third dose
3 years and 4 months, or soon after:
- MMR second jab
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and polio (DtaP/IPV), given as a 4-in-1 pre-school booster
Around 12-13 years:
- Cervical cancer (HPV) vaccine, which protects against cervical cancer (girls only): three jabs given within six months
Around 13-18 years:
- Diphtheria, tetanus and polio booster (Td/IPV), given as a single jab
65 and over:
- Flu (every year)
- Pneumococcal
I assume she is talking about additional vaccines? Im guessing she is in the UK as she used to word GP
Re: taking 15 month old Pakistan without vaccinations
Also you cannot give a Typhoid vaccine to any child under the age of 6. Diptheria is already done routinely.
Hep A vaccine cannoto be given to those under 1. Here is a website giving information about Hep A vaccine in the UK
http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Hepatitis-A-Immunisation.htm
EDIT: i gave totally wrong info haha
Re: taking 15 month old Pakistan without vaccinations
^ my 18month old was just given the first half of the hep A vaccine.
