'Thorough scrutiny should be done as mandatory routine by election commission on all prospective candidates intending to contest election (irrespective of any filing of complain by anyone)' ... and nomination papers should be rejected if that candidate do not qualify (is ineligible to contest election according to constitution).
I agree that the scrutiny should be performed by EC as soon as papers are filed for nomination, anyone with past conviction should be rejected etc. But what can be done about someone who claims to be mentally unstable to court of one country and then 'elected' officials make him their chief? ;)

Is that Quaid-e-Fissal Altaf contesting election in Pakistan or is holding Pakistan political or administrative post?
If not than I am not concerned about him nor I have Altaf-phobia like some who dream of 'Altaf' even during their eyes open or sleeping with their hands around pillow.
Anyhow, since you remember 'Altaf Hussain' in almost every post and do not feel your post is complete without mentioning him, it seems Altaf is your 'Langutia yaar and Spiritual leader' as you remember him all the time sleeping or awake ... and take his name on all occasions (chanting Altaf-hoo Altaf-hoo ...) be that in happiness of sadness ... you must be knowing what he intend to do. Oh but weren't you ranting about leaders possibly running away, seeking exil abroad? Wasn't Altaf once an elected leader and when his time to answer for his crimes came he ran away? Why did you leave that out? You mentioned Imran Khan and others having an escape plan abroad and mentioned it so exquisitely without mentioning your beloved pir sahib, who you guys support primarily on the basis of his ethnic preference.

There is a difference between peacefully registering your protest and torpedoing a democratically elected government, however flawed that might be, through blackmailing. If, in the first place, this guy was so concerned about the plight of others, he would have been out there roughing it out in the open along with his "supporters" instead of lounging around in his comfortable bunker. Nonetheless he has already delivered his speeches and made his point. Now it is time for him and all the other "million" people who are assembled there to leave. They too have marked their dissatisfaction with the status quo. The point has been noted. But we don't need any more dramabazi.
