Dealing with them is different than aligning with them. For that matter, any party in the center will have to deal with PPP, PML-N etc as well, as they too have vote banks.

Dealing with MQM involves creating a new leadership in the party, that openly denounces criminal elements, bhatta khori, mugging, etc. Altaf Hussain is a thug who openly threatens in every one of his speeches in words like"warna mein apnay kaarkunon ko azaad kar doon ga", and we all know what that means.

MQM needs to make some drastic changes to its ‘secret’ manifesto, and learn to at least internally denounce statements like above.

Bringing new leadership is an internal matter of the party. Keeping MQM out of a coalition in Sindh no government can function there. In the previous elections MQM had 51 constituencies out of 168 in the provincial assembly.

PPP never tried to solve the issue of Karachi. By sidelining any one of the stakeholders (PPP, ANP and MQM) you cant bring normalcy there. MQM needs to be convinced to leave the politics of ethnicity, hatred and bhatta khori. The turf war in the city needs to end. Its an era of globalization, no one can stop the movement of people. When people from Pakistan can move to different countries, why cant they do the same within the country?

Its sad that we have wasted 5 years due to this incompetent government, no issue has been resolved. In fact everything has become more complex.
