Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...

Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...

omg omg omg...I have so many

1) When brides wear a golden crown. Yes, I mean it. An ACTUAL crown on their heads. They look like total idiots.

2) When brides have a really large poof like in the 80s in order to hold the dupatta.

3) Bright pink and gold makes me cringe.

4) Bra straps showing in professional photographs

5) Psychedelic colours on bridal clothes like vomit green and orange. That makes my head dizzy.

Oh, there are loadssss more but can't think of any others at the mo!

If she was born into royalty, you really can't hold it against her. Otherwise: that's hilarious.

To be fair, if you've seen some of the dupattas I've seen, you'd know that they require an industrial poof to hold them in place, much like a showgirl's hat.

Provided the gown itself isn't strapless, we can't assume the girl did it on purpose. That said, extra points if she did.

Have you ever been to a wedding where the bride took pains to make sure not a hair peeped out of her hijab, but wore a short-sleeved, plunging-back sari blouse, and pinned the blouse to ensure that her arms and back showed?

Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...

1) a tiara. I cant stand them your not 4. Grow up (in desi weddings or non desi)

2) LOADSSSSSSSSS of rings, its gross. (its all to show off but it looks retarded)

3) sh*t loads of make up. Its jus horrible jus find one feature and enhance it.

4) dulhan bags, i really dont see the point of them i hate them so much

5) those flowers ppl put round your neck, omg tht jus ruins your whole look of your dress, please stop this!!

6) gold on one arm, and normal churiya on the other, URGH jus stick to one either gold on both of churiya on both!

Thats about it, until i can think of more!

.

Oh yeah, we the mods here in Wedding are just lazy. But since you have such a good eye, maybe you can lead us to those unedited posts :) We'll appreciate it.
French manicures? The quip was about French pedicures, "darling"; I never implied you had that much taste. ;-)
What can I say.. God give you all the taste and classiness :( Oh, the deprivation of it all.
PS: Just promise me that the next time you call me "darling", you do it in your best Cristal Conners voice, darlin'!
Yep, you got it.

is there really a need to be so sarcastic and rude?

you have your opinion she has hers ... I've been mod on many forums too and let me tell you its not that she is being inconsistent...have you seen the amount of posts and threads in these groups ? it's hard to keep an eye on every single one jo nazar mein aata hai usko ignore nahin kar sakte so please dont jump odwn her throat she isnt picking on you she is just doing her duty as a mod... if she wanted to argue with you abt french mans andpedis being classy or not she has other ways of doing it... please be respectful of each other...there are better ways to bring across your point than the route you are taking...

you have issue with her "mod" skilss i.e. you thikn she is being inconsistent and is censoring..ok fine ...at least dont get personal...why attack her "taste"

i think she called you darling to calm you down...and you may have taken it the wrong way...it would be nice if ppl starting clearing things up before assuming the worst

this behavior of yours was totally uncalled for and it does not help your thread...the message your giving is only post in this thread if you have the same opinion as me...if not then i will be sarcastic with you...

anyways i m not saying all this to be mean or anything i just said it in hopes that being a third person (i.e. m neither pareezay nor you) you might think about it and realize that you can have issues with ppl and their behaviour but there are better ways to deal with your complaints with that person ...i hope you will not take my comments too personally and think about what i said...it would be nice to let this thread go on in a polite courteous manner where ppl can post their views without hesitation

thank you,
F

Sadly I've yet to see one bride in a tiara. Incidentally, I've yet to be invited to one royal wedding.

Never understood this one myself; I've been to more than one wedding where the bride wore half the MAC counter on her face.

Never heard of "dulhan bags". Is it an actual accessory, or an embarrassing physical flaw like saddle-bags and muffin-tops?

I think these work well, when restricted to flowers (and decent ones, at that), but when I went to my cousins nikah, I found her family members standing, stringing hers out of @#$%&ing daisies, carnations and wilting, bargain-basement roses.

This is not so much a fashion faux-pas as it is a potential hazard: churiyas are forever breaking apart at the slightest impact and I worry my wedding night would be spent at the ER (sans George Clooney).

Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...

llxxll- well said hunni.

**Rox- **Dulhan bags, as in a little square box that all you do is dash money into it. I wud rather someone take care of the money.

omg Mixed Beauty, you're so right. Whats with the flower garland? and whats worse is the necklace which has the money stapled all around it!?!?! I mean what the hell!!! Why waste good money?

Gasp Does that mean I'm an official moderator now and fully endowed with all of your responsibilities? I'll get right on it, then!

Truly, it is a burden, lol.

Gurl: You. Just. Made. My. Day. :-D

You do get the money back. at least in Pakistan, i heard thats what they do...u pay them a small amount for hte labor (of putting it together and taking it apart)

Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...

^ Really? i thought like say if there is £100 there, you wud have to pay that to buy it??

I dont get them, and i certainly dont like them. Im so glad all these things r out of fashion in UK! oh my...

Will a guest VIP moderator do? :D

Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...

yea, but it looks so tacky and cheap! I agree MixedBeauty, no such nonsense here in England.

But weddings in Pakistan are way more fun :)

Also, I really don't like it when a bride sits down and her shoes show from underneath the lengha. It just looks really lame.

Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...

^ oh my God LOL i was gonna say that but i thought ppl wud think im jus being petty now. But i swear this bride had a lovely dress n her shoes or shall i say 'chappal' were absoloutly naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssstyyyyyyyyyyy

Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...

PICTURESSSSSSSSSSSSS hahahah thsi sud be fun!

Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...

No, but apparently there is a dire need to have a sense of humor.

I'd never want it any other way.

Congratulations?

Thanks for the transliterated Urdu; if only I too spoke gibberish, I'd see what you were getting at.

Ohhhh, I see. In that case: I never said she wasn't doing her duty; I just wasn't sure whether I should ever post an outgoing link again (since Pareezay darling might remove it) or continue to post an outgoing link like the ones I see all over the forums and in threads. The French pedi comment was meant as a joke (for want of a proper explanation from Pareezay) hence the emoticon at the end, to show I was kidding. Point taken. From now on, the "wink" emoticon will be replaced with the words "For God's sake Pareezay, it was a joke!". ;-)

Ye Gods! You're still rambling away about manicures and pedicures. Again, I didn't see a single person on this thread "argue" "abt french mans andpedis being classy" (my God, you have a way with words!); everyone was sharing her opinion, and it was a lively discussion. I posted a few links to further the discussion, said links were removed, so I merely posted the relevant search terms and made a quick, irreverent joke as to why those particular links might have been removed. What I saw as trying to roll with the punches you and your friend see as a slap to the face. Touche.

I'd have to say the same to you and your friend.

""mod" skilss"! You crack me up! I don't recall ever discussing Moderator Pareezay's "mod skilss" (at least, not with that spelling). As for the censorship or the consistency thereof on GS: yes, I feel that if there is a policy on this forum of censoring outgoing links, then the moderators must be more consistent in upholding it, otherwise prepare to be called out on it.

I don't care why she called me "darling" as long as it was in her best Cristal Connors voice! It's the only way to address someone as "darling".

It would also be nice if you followed your own advice.

One could say the same of your behavior.

Really, how so? cocks head to the side

Actually, I welcome a lively debate, about anything on this thread, otherwise I wouldn't respond to anything you or anyone else wrote. That fact that we all have different irks and peccadilloes when it comes to bridal fashion is what makes thread so interesting to me.

I didn't take it that way, but don't worry about it, either way.

No, it just makes me wonder if Pareezay can't fight her own corner (ofcourse, she is the Cristal Connors of the GS moderators, so she totally can).

I don't think anyone could.

For once llxxll, I couldn't agree more.

PS: How do you pronounce "llxxll"? Is it an Aztec name, like Itzcoatl, or is it not meant to be pronounced, like the Prince symbol?

That sounds suspiciously like an unpaid extern-ship; it will likely involve deleting any and all outgoing links while you file your nails, then heating and reheating the same cup of coffee until I get it to just the right temperature for you.

Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...

Someone's getting exciiiteddddd

Not even if they were Louboutins?!? Call me trashy (everybody does), but I'd be hiking my lehenga up every chance I got to flash those babies, and I'd work in a wink and a smile if someone was taking my picture.
