Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...
I'll start: I've seen at least one Desi bride rocking a FRENCH PEDICURE. As if the manicures themselves weren't tacky enough, some brides are determined to ascend the heights of bad taste, from head to toe.

There's definitely some debate, but they're styles I'd personally never rock, no matter how low rent the occasion. It's one of those things even the French want nothing to do with and deny any responsibility for, like French kissing: "C'est pas de notre faut!"
Nothing, when compared to the French pedi shudders, but French manicures and especially pedicures seem to be polarizing, with some folks thinking they're the bee's knees and some (myself, and the French) thinking they're the work of Satan.
Google the terms "french manicure tacky", "french manicure trashy" or "french pedicure tacky", and you'll see there's quite a bit of debate over whether they're classy or declasse. I posted the google links before, but apparently Moderator Pareezay saw fit to take them down (big fan of the French pedi, I assume). ;-)
Dulhan looks like she is wearing a caked on mask (which is literally "white) ....... bright red lips.....
You look at the brides arm and realize she is like 15 times darker than her actual face color.
It's super tacky and a pet peeve of mine....
Most of the Desi weddings I've attended took place in the US, so I've never seen a Geisha bride in person, but I saw photos from the wedding album of one. It was all I could do not to break down laughing; the bride (who's normally the color of Alek Wek) look whiter than a sheet in all that greasepaint. If a MUA doesn't have my shade in stock, then she won't get my business and if she intentionally paints my face white (on my wedding, of all days) she's going to lose some teeth. Simple as that.
If only it WAS red; it’s usually a gold-frosted shade of maroon, paired with dark brown lip-liner. And yes, I hate the colored contacts and '80s blusher too, but as I live and attend weddings in the States, I’ve never seen a bride go that route (yet). Extra points if anyone has pictures of such a bride.
That's the main gripe that many folks have with the French Mani: no matter how hard you try, it really never looks subtle or very natural, even if that was the presumed intention.
With regards to the French pedicure: from afar, it looks like your don't trim your toenails, and up close, it just looks like you only want to make it appear that way.

I find it so amusing when a moderator's action is taken soooo personally. Sadly for you, we don't allow external links, especially to other forums, to be posted here in the Wedding. Even if I hated french manicures, I still wouldn't be able to make an exception for you, darling. Feel free to PM an admin if you have any other concerns about it.
Happy posting!
By fake tears, do you mean the kind that you buy at the pharmacy, to keep your eyes moist? Maybe the 10lbs of eye makeup, combined with her colored contacts, dried out the poor girl's eyes and she had no choice but to wet and re-wet; she wasn't crying, her eyes were drying!

I find it so amusing when a forum member's jokes are "taken soooo personally". I appreciate that you "don't allow external links, especially to other forums, to be posted here in the Wedding [sections]" sadly for you" you don't seem to be consistent when enforcing this, though if you wish to be, you've clearly got a lot of work ahead of you. Start-a-censorin'!

French manicures? The quip was about French pedicures, "darling"; I never implied you had that much taste. ;-)

Dearest Pareezay: with moderators like you, who needs admins?
Happy posting!
Thanks! :-)
PS: Just promise me that the next time you call me "darling", you do it in your best Cristal Conners voice, darlin'!
