OMG i have seen something similar but at a birthday party in pakistan. It was one of our aunty. what was worst that she did all of her packing BEFORE the food was served AND had her driver help her with it ![]()

Re: Tackiest thing you’re ever seen a bride rock…
Brides who go for long red/pink fake nails…ekkkhhh!
and one bride was wearing a boat neck shirt and you could see her black bra strap in pictures i.e. her wedding portraits.

Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...
I have seen a groom cry while the bride just sat there andd watched him... the funniest thing was when we were watching the video of them later... the videographer didn't even leave that part out.... the entire family was laughing.
Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...
One wedding I went to the bride had her eyebrows pierced and her tongue pierced, she also had a tatoo on her neck... she just didn't look right sitting there in her Red Lengha. Tacky to say the least.
Did the auntys talk? I can imagine them going crazy!!!
Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...
I wouldn't use the word tacky, but it just didn't look good thought it was a nice gesture. I saw a wedding video where the bride's dupatta was trailing behind her and the groom was helping her pick it up. It's a nice gesture, but there are enough women around the bride that can pick it up for her. A groom looks better walking next to the bride as opposed to her being in the lead.
Re: Tackiest thing you’re ever seen a bride rock…
since this thread seems to be on the road to revival… i hate the ‘gola gunda’ bride concept. it’s when the makeup artist figures that every colour on your bridal dress should also be on your face. surely, matchy matchy makeup is every girl’s dream! ![]()
not the best example, but here’s something for your visual taste buds
Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...
^ You'd be surprised how many girls actually want that and request the MUA specifically match the outfit with the bride's face.
Its very hard...very very hard to bite your tongue and make these girls happy as your andar ki aurat is screamingggggg in pain.
Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...
yup that happens sooo often. uff i really dont like it. i went to a mehndi once and the bride's dress was green and yellow. her eye shadow was ALSO the same green and yellow. bright green and bright yellow. it wasnt looking gd to me at all.
Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...
haha. wow. the only reason i have that picture on my computer is to illustrate to my folks what I DON'T want for makeup. I actually think, with better makeup and maybe a little less vampire teeth, that woman would've looked gorgeous!
Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...
^On the subject of makeup, another look that doesn't look good (to me at least) is overly filled-in eyebrows. It's one thing if your eyebrows are a bit sparse but I think too much filling makes them look drawn on and ages the face.
Re: Tackiest thing you’re ever seen a bride rock…
another pet peeve - and really, i think this isn’t even a matter of choice or preference, just bad make up practice - is when they forget to do the neck properly so you have a marked difference in the complexion between the face and the neck.
it’s horrible when combined with the geisha look but i was disappointed to see it on a bride from Natasha’s salon recently. :-/
Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...
^I agree about the geisha look. Something that makes the geisha look even more pronounced is dark red lipstick (which often doesn't suit the bride).
I've never understood why people who never wear dark red lipstick in everyday life (probably because they know it doesn't look good on them), choose to do so for their wedding.
Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...
i haven't had the chance to see that, but I have seen eyebrows that have been darkened so much, they dominate the whole face. not on a bride though.
Also, there are these jewellery pieces I keep seeing in pictures now, like half a maatha patti (only on one side) and teekas in a side part inside of the center of the forehead. i didn't believe my mom when she told me this was in fashion. that... makes no sense to me.
Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...
lol. i want to rock red ruby lips on my wedding and i don't wear lipstick at all :P but don't worry, i'm taking my most trusted makeup advisors shopping with me before then to help me figure out what works on me. :)
Re: Tackiest thing you're ever seen a bride rock...
^ I think ruby lips can look quite nice. I especially like MAC's Ruby Woo shade. It looks quite nice on almost everyone.
I don't think it's the red lipstick per say that's the problem. I think the problem is that makeup artists always seem to go for the same deep burgundy shade (even if it doesn't suit the bride).
