Taanga / Khota Gari / Bail Gari / Rickshaw / Ching Ching / Wagon / Oonth ka Safar...

have guppies every tried these or other unconventional forms of travel?

pls share your stories…all sorts of stories… and feel free to post pix too

I only travelled on the rickshaw...they call it "Rakshah"....it's good to travel on it in summer because it's all so open and you have the wind to cool you down, it's good way to SEE pakistan :D

But one should be careful to choose the Rakshahs to travel on, some drivers aren't really drivers that's to say that can't manage the rakshahs' especially in the Pinds where gaalis are rough (up and down right and left). :p

Does Suzuki count?

little human thanks for sharing :flower1:

dont you get a headache from the tarrr tarrr phat phat noise of the raksha tho?

and yup sure suzuki counts  anything u wana share

ummm…dont’ get much headache although I was a bit uneasy the first time I tried it …like it was if some other car came crashing into us…I might be seriously hurt…so If I sat at the back I make sure I am ready to jump off the raksha in case i see a danger coming towards me

But i didn’t like sitting in the front.

Suzuki’s my God :smack:…I was packed there like sardines…some women just sat whereever they found the place…I mean like on the floor of the sukizi between the legs of other ladies

Ha Ha Ha .. thats a funny one irem.. been on rickshaw countless times... well actually its not comfortable at all.. all the time i had to hang on to this partition in the front while trying not to get knocked off it.. .. khayr... switched to taxi now n its way better ... rickshaw is fun if u want a bumpy ride though .. :D .... been on wagon once when i was in pindi for this exhibition thingi.. it was like i was staying in pindi with frends n that exhibition used to be held on islamabad.. so we travel to n then back to pindi on wagon... i never liked to b stashed up in front with the driver.. it was so embarassing as well as suffocating.. apparently other people didnt think like i do... apna apna murzi hay yara ... shrug

Taanga ... Yes, but only once or twice. Was fun, but I wouldn´t want to be dependant on it as my only means of transportation.
Khota Gari ... No
Bail Gari ... No
Rikshaw ... Yes, quite a few times. It´s horrible.
Ching Ching ... Only once and that only because I was in a hurry and there was nothing else available.
Wagon ... Yes. The worst possible way to travel in Pakistan.
Oonth ... No

Tanga: Yes. Grade 1-5 my only way of transportation to school

Khota Garri: No

Bail garri: No

Rickshaw: Yes, many times. My last Pakistan trip when I couldn't find Texi Cab used rickshaw form North Nazimabad to Tariq Road. Seats were especially and purposely designed with very slippery, red and shinny plastic material and I was holding some kind of rod (there wasn't any other handle available to hold) to sit at one place.... But couldn't. It was horrible fun and reminded me minebuster roller coster ride at Canada's wonderland.... All Rickshaws must have seatbelts... earplugs are optional.

Ching Ching: No

Wagon or (Mini Bus): yes. All school and college life at Karachi. We named wagon/ Minibus journey as "MURGHA JOURNEY"

Oonth Ka Safar: yes, at the Karachi beaches

:hehe:

Taanga … no

Khota Gari … no but did travel/sat on a Khota when i was 5-6 yrs old … forgot the details thought …

Bail Gari .. no

Rickshaw .. yes … fun in the summer but can be dangerous

Ching Ching … no

Wagon .. yes … was surrounded by the relatives .. doze off .. hehe … don’t remember much..

Oonth ka Safar… no

Suzuki .. yes .. get as much passengers as you can get … pretty suffocating.. guys do travel standing at the end of the thing and some do climb up and sit on the roof (and travel in that way) …

My BB [blue bmw] is the best :):)

Taanga: yes
Donkey cart: no
Bull: No
Rickshaw: yes
Ching ching: wtf's a ching ching?!

Best ride of all was a steadfast Abraha, strong chest, awesome coat, high head high tail, seemed like he was galloping in the air.

Tanga: Yes, when i was in class prep i use to go to school on tonga. It use to come at 5 in the morning and i was only like 4 and a half years old :teary1:

I personally love tanga but it has almost disappeared now.

so she having a kind heart fulfilled my wish... and took me on a taanga .... though we (me n my mother) rode only for 5 mins.... the journey was good...

i liked it

Taanga-yep i luved it, still do! :D but ish a bit tooo slow
Khota Gari-yea sometimes when we used to go to goan..there would be people coming from the fields to their houses and vice versa

kabhi kissi nay Truck maiN safer kiya hai .. khochaa:roman:?

KuTT tu OonTaa Oonch hai
kuch OonT Oonti Oonch ki :expressionless:

ching ching is actually called chingi - piyar say
it is a kind of ghoora garri
yeh motorcycle say chalti hay - i mean ghooray ki jagga motor cycle lagi hui hooti hay :stuck_out_tongue:

taqreeban taqreeban

Tanga - zabardast, esp if you get the strong horse ones which hang around outside cinema halls at night and then race against other yangas along Lahore roads!
Ricksha - cool (actually cold) in the winter in Lahore - must try if you get the chance
Bail gari - a couple of bumpy rides

Have you travelled on TOP of a bus ? Much more comfy than being squeezed like sardines inside, esp in the summer - make sure you take good head covering along to protect against the sun.

And dune bashing anyone?

Or the freight comparment of railways, mixed in with a load of boris of assorted goods?

Or in an airconditioned bus through the desert , but with the a/c out of order and sealed windows?
