Syria says it accepts Russian chemical arms proposal to turn over its WMDs to UN

Exactly ... So if you know so much, why do you still do it?

Re: Syria says it accepts Russian chemical arms proposal to turn over its WMDs to UN

No there was and is no harmony ... Just a very forceful maintenance of status quo ... Under Bashar rule ... Bashar is called a god by his followers ... His people rebuke Allah (SWT) ... And you have seen them ... Siding with him does Shi'ism no favours ... He has you all thinking that he is like you ...

Re: Syria says it accepts Russian chemical arms proposal to turn over its WMDs to UN

I think you are assuming too much :) ...

First of all I am no Shia (though I would not mind agreeing with them if they say anything that seems logical and true to me) and second is that I am not opposing or supporting Asad or what he or people of his sect or religion believe. Another thing is that, just for my own view point I would not like to hide truth and buy lies ... and that is what I expect from others too (though it is hard thing to expect).

Fact is that, Bashar-ul-Asad father and now he is ruling Syria since long time and there was no sectarian violence in Syria neither anyone was abusing or persecuting anyone in Syria on basis of religion, sect, or whatever.

During their rules and rules before them, even graves of Muslims whom every Muslim (other than Kharjees) love, were not only safe but well maintained and well attended ... and among them were graves belonging to even father of Present day Kharjee (ibn Tamiya). People, be they Christian, Sunnis, Shias, or whoever, were living peacefully.

Syria s not oil producing country or country with rich natural resources, still living standard in Syria was much better than many oil rich Muslim country and people were independent as long as they are not politically active, actually more independent than most oil rich Arab countries with Wahabi ideology.

Harmony in Syria was such that even Christian villages were thriving without any persecution since time Muslim took over Syria ... and no one was concerned.

As for Kurd ... they are living in Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Syria ... one would read about them getting persecuted by government forces in Turkey, Iraq and occasionally in Iran too ... but have never read about them getting persecuted in Syria. Same one can read about Druzes ... or any minorities living in Syria. Even though majority of Syrians are Sunni (not wahabi or Kharjees as they are not Sunni by any mean) and ruler was Alavis ... but I never read that Sunnis were getting persecuted in Syria just because they are Sunni ... and same can be said about Shias that they also were not getting persecuted in Syria just because they were Shias.

Fact is that, Asaad and Saddam were close to each other, helping each other in every way, even though one was Sunni ruler and other was Alavi. In 1973 war, Iraqi forces were fighting Israeli forces side by side with Syrian forces.

Another fact is that, no country can take part in war and win if there is disharmony in country. In 1973 war with Israel, twe countries got into war ... Egypt and Syria. Egypt took Sinai but stopped after 12 miles in ...later lost even part of Egypt west of Sinai. Jordan did not took part in war. Jordan did not dared to take part in this war. On the other hand, Syrian forces took part and fought bravely. They almost retook Golan heights and according to some news even entered and captured Israeli territory, advancing into Israel (land stayed with Syria till cease fire) and it was after ceasefire that Israel managed to retake their lost land from Syria and also captured part of Golan heights (all illegally ... as from what I know, all what Israel took was after ceasefire brokered by UN). Throughout, what I remember, Iraqi forces were fighting Israeli forces along with Syrian forces.

In Lebanon also, when Israel attacked and took southern Lebanon, it was due to Syria that Israel did not entered Bekka valley.

Anyhow, you do not have to accept what i wrote ... but can check archives yourself (if you can find one) and compare the living conditions of Syrian compared to other Arab world.
