You can use them on any colour, even light fabrics. The crystals also come in different colours, a ‘colarado topaz’ shade is often with dark/dull/antique gold work.
They are combined with anything and everything… it really depends on the style of kaam you want. For example, they can be combined in threadwork (instead of sequins) for a light look.
For a more heavy look the kaam is usually a combination of everything - threadwork, dabka, cut dana, sequins, swarovskis…
The best thing would be to have a kaam sample made or you can pick out some kaam and ask whoever is making it to include swarovski’s in there… they are more of an addition rather than a fundamental aspect.
