Swarovski crystals for embellishments

I’ve heard Swarovski crystals make the outfit shine and would like ideas about their placement and how to use them in an optimum manner

I’m thinking of concentrating them in the bodice of an anarkali, or on a saari blouse
what other types of “kaam” should swarovski’s be combined with.
Ideas about colors that really bring out the shine would be great too. For now I am imagining swarovskis on deep red or a lovely midnight blue

You can use them on any colour, even light fabrics. The crystals also come in different colours, a ‘colarado topaz’ shade is often with dark/dull/antique gold work.

They are combined with anything and everything… it really depends on the style of kaam you want. For example, they can be combined in threadwork (instead of sequins) for a light look.
For a more heavy look the kaam is usually a combination of everything - threadwork, dabka, cut dana, sequins, swarovskis…

The best thing would be to have a kaam sample made or you can pick out some kaam and ask whoever is making it to include swarovski’s in there… they are more of an addition rather than a fundamental aspect.

The third one is the most simple, just dabka sequins and crystals.

nyc work

Re: Swarovski crystals for embellishments

^thats some gorgeous work stoppit!
raania i personally like swarovski crystal work on light/pastel colors..
i would keep the work on the bodice lighter and heavier on the bottom onwards to the daman.

Re: Swarovski crystals for embellishments

thank you chanda :)

yes, i also think swarovski's and crystal work in general looks gorgeous on light colours. they work on dark too but the overall effect is usually very heavy.

and that's a very nice idea for blouse or bodice. or a thin bale at the bottom and neckline and kaam motifs to fill.

That is gorgeous.. it's so delicate and pretty Mashallah. Swarovski's look great with antique dabka too.. just around the neck/high-collar..sleeves and daman maybe?

Re: Swarovski crystals for embellishments

oh my, this stuff is GORGEOUS and you guys are right about it looking good on paler shades
thanks guys

I'm going to get estimates from my kaam wallah the next time I go to liberty

Re: Swarovski crystals for embellishments

LOVE the pics stoppit.
agree with what chanda said. they work beautifully on lighter colours.

Re: Swarovski crystals for embellishments

I love swarovski crystals. I had a lot of swarovski work done a few years ago. i don’t anymore cuz i’m not into heavy kaam for now. But i still love em. Here’s some i found on google

Re: Swarovski crystals for embellishments

I just love the last design and the base color it is set on
thank you so much for sharing

The embroidery has been done on net, it would make such an awesome valima dupatta

Re: Swarovski crystals for embellishments

It looks likes western work, no?

Regardless, very pretty. I feel like having something which is mainly threadwork, pearl beads and swarovski's now; not truly a fan of dabka!

Re: Swarovski crystals for embellishments

I'm not a fan of dabka either, but I really like naqshi in traditional work

Wow, totally gorgeous and very tempting :).

OMG… they are awesome especially the second and the last one.. Gonna save them.
