Okay so this is the menu we finally went for. We made it a little typical & desi this time because we've already tried different cuisines with them and in the end they praise the desi food in the menu.
Anyway, Iftar:
Fruit Chaat
Dahi Bhallay (daal walay home made)
Khajoor filled almonds & cream
Chotay Samosay (with vegetable filling)
Pakoray - different kinds .. Potato, onions, palak & baingan
*Maash ki daal (1/2 kilo or as much you want)
*Lasan (some 4-5 cloves)
*Ajwain (pinch of it)
*Salt (As per taste)
*Black Pepper (As per taste)
-Soak the daal for some 2-3 hours so that it is soft. Add the daal + Lasan + Ajwain + Salt + Black Pepper in a blender. Blend it well till it is a thick paste.
-Take the paste out and try to make spherical bhallay of it, if you are unable to make them in your hand then directly try to make the shape in the frying pan in which you will be frying them
-Fry them to a little golden colour, not brown.
-Once they are fried, soak them in water for 15 minutes
-Prepare yogurt by beating it, adding salt, chat masala, garnish with pudeena, hari chatni, dhaniya or what ever more you want to add.
-Add the Bhallay to the yogurt & eat it!
