Surviving on low income

Re: Surviving on low income

Average salary might as well be ranging from 18k to 25 k for lower middle class families and for** starting** salaries for most. I agree with you there. But people are either homeowners, or have other people contributing to the household finances ie brothers, fathers etc. Multiple incomes come in to make a "comfortable" living lifestyle. There is no way that income of less than 20 K will sustain a family properly.

Now if you are talking abt servants and their families, that's a different deal.

I'm speaking of educated families whose priorities include schooling and a basic standard lifestyle.

Re: Surviving on low income

Yeah that's what people call what they consider wannabe westernised people. "Burgers" refer to spoiled brats who don't know "real life" in pakland :P

Re: Surviving on low income

well said

Re: Surviving on low income

You're the one who's assuming that OP is a bad muslim.....OP is going back to US in May so I guess spending 6 months in an average income in Pak is not a big deal.

Re: Surviving on low income

U are very right. Just speak to him about at least having enough money to pay the rent. I'm sure as you mentioned you have seen your parents be on the giving end and now having to ask people for rent money really hurts you. As is right.

Therefore, how about set aside money for the rent at the beginning of month, then let him do what he wants with the rest. Give it to mom or whatever. That will force people to be more responsible. And tell him no matter what you don't want him begging people for a loan because you respect him too much. Beyond that say he is free to do anything he wants with his earnings.

Re: Surviving on low income

Ok thanks, yes I saw many families like this roll up in Mcd drive thru's in huge new vehicles, with huge fat people sitting inside eating all day.

Re: Surviving on low income

You are saying Nomica lives under 20 K a month?
If he doesn't, why is he the only one you can quote to tell the average household income in Pakistan?

Re: Surviving on low income

e.g. when you got no clue about the other person and still cant resist to contribute to a conversation - then you are assuming

also, on top if you have no clue about the situation, then you are clueless

*generally speaking for clarification *

Re: Surviving on low income

n what exactly are you doing all day watching them  munching on burgers which they have bought from their own money :p. That really makes me wonder unless ofcourse if you work there then it makes sense :bummer:.

Re: Surviving on low income

I'm not talking about servants but people who send their kids to average private schools...and I remember when you disagreed with another member on expenses, 5000 seemed nothing to you when to that member it meant a lot so two people from the same country can have conflicting opinions according to their class or lifestyle, it doesn't mean the other person has to be an uneducated servant living a life of a feral rat.

I agree with paying house rent though....house owners have it easier.
