Re: Surname Change.
Most of us here have a secular view point of life and discuss issues in that vein. Bringing in religion to support your secular point of view, therefore, makes no sense. As per Life 1, our religion is only valid for the following circumstances:
- Not changing your surname to your husband’s name.
- Not living with your in-laws. This one is especially interesting & intriguing because during this argument, even the dreaded “mahram / na-mahram concept” is allowed limited temporal AND spatial validity. Hurrah!
- Husband is solely responsible for bringing home the dough.
For all the other situations, religion is an out-dated (re’; 1,400 years old) way of thinking. At best, it is a tool for male domination.
